Japanese Culture Studio Tsubaki The Japanese Culture Studio TSUBAKI offers bilingual (Japanese/English) classes in cooking, calligraphy, ikebana, tea ceremony and pottery.

Japanese Cooking Classes

If you’ve ever wondered how to perfect your Japanese home cooked meals this is your chance to find out. During each of our cooking classes, you will learn how to prepare and cook a complete meal in a fully equipped teaching kitchen. Every weekend we will plan a new menu for you to try out. The class will be run by Shion. Shion has worked as a senior Chef for two years and

has recently qualified as a balanced meal planner. Cooking is a skill that is learned, practiced and repeated until it’s seemingly mundane. We all eat three meals a day why not make each meal an opportunity to sustain the body and nourish the mind. Cooking should be a life-long apprenticeship. We hope that our classes will be an opportunity to develop our respective languages, meet new people and share some great memories. If you have recently moved to Japan you may have had to make some adjustments. You may have had to relearn how to purchase, prepare, combine, and taste ingredients as you re-educate your palate. During our class we hope to share some tips, ideas and resources to make life a bit easier. We will cook everything together and then sitting down to share our prepared meal with drinks and desert.
