One thing I love about eating in Okinawa? The set meals.
An Okinawan teishoku isn’t just one dish, it’s a full spread that shows off the island’s flavors in the best way.
You usually get a main (like pork belly, goya champuru, or fresh fish), rice, miso soup, pickles, and small side dishes that change with the season. Sometimes there’s tofu, sometimes seaweed, sometimes both. It’s always balanced, colorful, and full of surprises.
Every meal feels like a mini food tour of Okinawa on one tray and honestly, it never gets boring.
