Piglets should suckle from the sow approximately every 1 to 1.5 hours during the first few days after birth, which equates to 10 to 15 times per day. This frequent nursing stimulates milk production and ensures piglets receive adequate colostrum and nutrition. As piglets grow, nursing frequency gradually decreases to around 6–8 times per day by weaning (3–4 weeks of age).
