In the heart of Gambella, in a town called Pinyudo, two young girls named Ariet Odong and Ajulu Odong spent their days with a football at their feet. In a world where many believed the pitch belonged only to men, these sisters saw a different future. They didn’t just want to play; they wanted to lead.

Their journey was not paved with easy roads. It was built on the dusty fields of Pinyudo, through sweat, relentless practice, and an unbreakable bond. As sisters, they were each other’s greatest fans and toughest coaches. When Ariet ran, Ajulu was there to pace her. When Ajulu practiced her strikes, Ariet was there to challenge her.

Their commitment eventually caught the eyes of the nation. Through hard work and an iron will, they broke through the barriers of local football to earn the highest honor a player can receive: the chance to wear the green, yellow, and red of the Ethiopian Women’s National Team.
