Mentorship is all about learning the practical skills that make beekeeping easier. In this short session, I am showing a mentee how to properly place a super on top of the brood box.

But as we wipe and prepare the super frames, we discover something important—the frames have no wax foundation. Fortunately, I had left some wax sheets with them earlier, so the next lesson becomes an unexpected part of the mentorship.

Beekeeping is a continuous learning process. Sometimes, the best lessons come from what you discover along the way.

On this evening, I was out teaching a friend—who has now become a client—how to inspect a beehive's super box.
And you know what? A lady once asked me, “What if the people you are infecting with with beekeeping habits become your competition? Don’t you feel threatened?”
Honestly, I don't see it that way.
I find great joy in sharing what I know. The real reward is seeing someone I taught eventually inspect their own hives, manage their bees, harvest honey, sell it, and make money from it—all on their own.
For me, teaching is about creating more skilled beekeepers and helping people turn beekeeping into a source of an income.

The bees don't rush, yet they accomplish incredible things through consistency and teamwork.
As we inspect each hive, we are not just checking on the bees—we are ensuring the colonies remain healthy, productive, and ready for the next honey flow.
We honestly believe everyone should keep at least one hive in their backyard. Not just for the honey, but for the peace of mind that comes with caring for something that demands patience rather than pressure.

Beekeeping isn't just about harvesting honey. It's about regularly visiting your apiary and observing your colonies. One of the first signs of a healthy hive is seeing worker bees return with pollen on their legs. These simple inspections help you identify problems early and keep your colonies strong. Healthy bees make healthy honey.

Every successful apiary starts with one decision: just begin.

This is one of our client's beekeeping journeys over the last 2 years. There were challenges along the way such as bees absconding a hive, but we didn't give up.

First harvest: 3 Kg
Second harvest: 15 Kg
Latest harvest: 22 Kg

Beekeeping is a journey of patience, proper management, and consistency. The results keep improving with time.

Let me be honest with you. The thought of keeping bees used to send shivers down my spine.

Not the quiet, manageable kind of nervousness that you push through easily. Real, genuine fear. Bees sting. They move in thousands. They do not negotiate. And here I was considering inviting them onto my farm, into boxes I would have to open with my own hands.
