Types of Fowl Pox

1. Dry form (cutaneous)
Most common and less severe
Wart-like, scabby lesions on eyelids,wattles,combs
2. Wet form (diphtheritic)
More serious and sometimes fatal

Yellowish plaques in:
Mouth
Throat
Trachea
Causes breathing difficulty and poor feeding

Reduced egg production

Depression and weakness

Prevention & Control

Treatment
No specific antiviral treatment
Supportive care:
Clean lesions with antiseptics
Provide vitamins (especially vitamin A)
Antibiotics may be used only to prevent secondary bacterial infections
