Our recap continues with Day Two of the IFPI Africa Performance Rights Conference in Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬focused on driving practical implementation and sustainable growth across the music ecosystem.

A key highlight of the day was the session on Licensing Strategy and Implementation, where industry leaders explored best practices for developing effective, long-term licensing frameworks that deliver measurable results across markets.

We were proud to have KAMP represented at this stage, with our CEO, , contributing to discussions on building sustainable MLC business models and ensuring long-term performance through strategic planning.

As the conference progressed towards conclusion, attention turned to next steps and actionable outcomes, with our Chairperson, , featured in the programme, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, commitment, and alignment across CMOs and MLCs in the region.

The discussions across Day Two emphasized not just strategy, but ex*****on ensuring that the commitments made translate into real impact for creators and rights holders.

Let’s give a recap of the IFPI Africa Performance Rights Conference held last week in Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬, where our KAMP Chairperson and CEO CS were in attendance, actively contributing to key industry conversations shaping the future of music in Africa.

Day One set the tone with high-level engagements and insightful discussions. We were honoured to hear a keynote address from the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, whose commitment to strengthening the creative sector and supporting rights holders remains a strong driver for industry growth.

The IFPI Chief Legal Officer also provided important clarity on the evolving rights management landscape, highlighting the role of Music Licensing Companies (MLCs)/ Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) continue to be central to the ecosystem particularly in ensuring efficient rights administration, transparency, and fair remuneration for creators and rights holders.

Our KAMP Chairperson played a key role as moderator of the first high-level panel session, guiding discussions on addressing industry challenges while unlocking opportunities for sustainable growth in Africa’s recorded music sector.
