Today, 29th May, we mark a historic milestone for the RUWE church, the day we commemorate the rebirth of the Holy Spirit in our midst. We trace this grace back to the 2nd of May, when Japuony Lawi Obonyo first received the Holy Spirit.
It is beautiful to see our young people thrilled, posting, and giving credit where it is due. But today, I am asking us to pause and reflect on the most important part of our commemoration: Are we actually gaining anything from it?
For years, we have gathered, we have eaten, and we have danced. We enjoy the presence of our new pastors visiting us, but we must ask ourselves: What has really changed? Our numbers have not grown as they should because we are failing to tell the world about the rebirth of the Holy Spirit amongst the Blacks. While we are busy being thrilled by the celebration, others have taken this holy spirit more seriously than we have, and their testimonies speak volumes.
We often sing, "NEYE BENDERA MOWARO PINY DUTO" (Behold the flag that saves the whole world). But how did a flag become that important? If you check the patterns in African flags, you realize there is a story behind them. But a flag is only as powerful as the people who stand for it...homework ero uru
We say, “JII MANG'ENY MAKIA gi JII MANOK MONG'EYO koro mond UTEM NYISOGI”, What have you told those who do not know it yet?. To those who do not yet understand, the rebirth of the Holy Spirit is not just a title; it is a life of power and purity.
KUDWARO MUYANO NI MOND OSIKI E CHUNYU ONEGO ULAME PILE PILE ONEGO USIN GI RICHO. This is the warning: The Holy Spirit warns us that we must resist sin if we want Him to stay with us. Do we truly resist sin? Or are we just performing rituals?
The world will only listen when we stop just
talking and start demonstrating. The sacrifice the Holy Spirit demands is not just our dancing,it is our character. It is our daily decision to turn away from sin and live in integrity.
Happy Commemoration Day
