is a naturally occurring hormone that is widely used as a drug in livestock to assist reproduction and milk production. It acts mainly on the uterus and mammary glands.

MECHANISM OF ACTION
Oxytocin works by:
Stimulating smooth muscle contraction of the uterus
Causing contraction of myoepithelial cells in the udder leading to milk ejection (letdown)
