Boksoon Doga - 6.5%

평소에 막걸리 리뷰를 자주 올리는 편은 아닌데, 이번에 복순도가에서 보내주신 막걸리를 맛볼 기회가 생겨서 한번 소개해봅니다. 결론부터 말하면… 기대 이상이었습니다.

이 막걸리는 스파클링 스타일이라 탄산이 꽤 강해요. 그래서 뚜껑을 살짝살짝씩 열어 가스를 좀 빼주고, 잠깐 두었다가 따르면 훨씬 맛있게 즐길 수 있습니다.

화이트 버전은 좋은 막걸리 특유의 산뜻한 산미가 살아 있고, 약간의 단맛 뒤에 드라이하게 깔끔하게 떨어지는 맛이 좋더라고요. 레드 버전은 과일이 들어간 건 아니지만 은은한 과실 향 느낌이 있어 좀 더 달콤하게 느껴졌습니다. 이 붉은 빛은 특별한 쌀에서 나온 색이라고 하네요.

개인적으로는 레드 버전이 좀 더 취향이었지만, 두 제품 다 음식이랑 매칭하기 좋고 각자 매력이 있어서 취향에 따라 고르면 될 것 같습니다.

참, 막걸리랑 같이 페이셜 트리트먼트 마스크도 보내주셨는데요. 이런 마스크는 착용할 때마다 살짝 어색한데, 떼고 나면 바로 상쾌해져서 은근히 좋더라고요 😄

We don’t normally review Makgeolli here, but I was given the opportunity to try these Makgeollis from . And they do not disappoint.

These are sparkling Makgeollis so they are very carbonated, meaning you have to burp the bottle to release the carbonation. After a short time it’ll be time to pour and enjoy.

The white version had a nice sour acidity to it common to good makgeolli. It’s a tad sweet with a dry finish. I found the red version slightly sweeter with a hint of fruitiness though there is no fruit added. The red color comes from a special rice.

While I prefer the red version, both have their place, especially for food pairings. So choose wisely.

Along with the makgeolli we were given facial treatment masks. I always find putting on this type of mask to be jarring but when it’s done I immediately felt refreshed.

오랫동안 맥주 바틀샵 전문 매장이었던 당근슈퍼는 최근 대대적인 리노베이션을 통해 캔과 병맥주 컬렉션을 유지하면서도 생맥주를 제공하는 공간으로 새롭게 거듭났습니다.

당근 슈퍼는 제가 오랫동안 즐겨 찾던 곳이라 주인분들이 얼마나 친절하고, 이곳에 얼마나 많은 정성을 쏟아왔는지 잘 알고 있습니다. 새롭게 단장한 공간의 분위기도 정말 마음에 들고, 날씨가 따뜻해지면 야외 좌석에서도 즐길 수 있어 더욱 좋습니다.

시내 중심가는 아니지만, 이 근처에 있다면 꼭 한 번 들러볼 만한 곳입니다.

Originally a bottle shop for many years, Carrot Mart has recently undergone a massive renovation to provide beer on tap as well as maintaining their collection of cans and bottles.

Carrot Mart has been my go-to bottle shop for many years, so I know the owners are very kind and have put their hearts into it. I really enjoy the vibe of the new place. And they have outdoor seating as the weather warms up.

While it isn’t in the city center, If you are in the area this place is a must-go.

I missed it the first time they released it but so happy I got to try it this time. It’s based on cucumber kimchi and is absolutely delicious. I wish this came out in summer.

Near Jongno these places could easily be combined. This is a seriously good area not just for great craft beer but also Korean street food and drinking.

•Ggeek Beer 끽 비어

Ggeek are constantly making new beers from different styles. They are also consistently well made. Whenever they release a new beer, I don’t even have to look at it to know I’m buying it.

끽은 끊임없이 다양한 스타일의 맥주를 만들고 있습니다. 퀄리티 또한 보장되어 있으며, 끽에서 새로운 맥주를 출시할 때마다 고민없이 항상 구매하는 편입다.

•The Ranch Brewing 더 랜치 브루잉

Based in Daejeon, The Ranch has an excellent taphouse here. Not only are the beers great, but so is the pizza. They make some excellent Detroit style pizza.

대전에 본사를 둔 더랜치는 이곳에 훌륭한 탭하우스를 가지고 있습니다. 맥주뿐만 아니라 디트로이트 스타일의 피자도 훌륭합니다.

Right around the corner from The Ranch, this is a hip brewery that is always busy.

더랜치에서 바로 모퉁이를 돌면 있는 을지맥옥 이곳은 항상 바쁜 힙한 양조장입니다.

•Magpie 맥파이 (Near Mint+)

Magpie moved from the Itaewon basement location to Euljiro. It’s located on the fourth floor with no elevator. It’s Magpie so you know what you’re getting.

맥파이가 이태원의 지하 위치에서 을지로로 이전했습니다. 새로운 장소는 엘리베이터 없는 4층에 있습니다만 맥파이다운 변함없는 품질의 맥주를 만나볼 수 있습니다.

•Euljiro Aleian 을지로 외계인

Serving up AnC Brewing beers also know as Aleian beers. They’re usually great on tap.

이곳은 에이앤씨 브루잉, 즉 에일리언 맥주를 제공합니다. 에일리언의 맥주들은 드라프트로 마셨을 때 그 진가를 발휘합니다.

•Artmonster 아트몬스터

Artmonster has locations throughout Seoul. Their beers have been gettin better over the years, so I now can recommend them.

아트몬스터는 서울 전역에 위치해 있습니다. 나날이 맥주가 좋아지고 있는 곳이기도 하며, 멋진인테리어와 다양한 안주를 즐기기에 좋은 곳이어서 추천합니다.

We have been working hard to understand the craft beer world especially here in Korea. To that end, we have opened our own taphouse in Seoul. It’s one of the newest taphouses in Korea and certainly in Seoul, located near Hapjeong station.

At Turtle Taps we strive to provide a carefully curated selection of beers on tap as well as those available in cans and bottles. We want to highlight excellent Korean beers as well as provide some high quality imports.

We also provide a short list of delicious food from original buffalo wings to our pulled-pork burger.
