🔘semolina 🔘all purpose flour 🔘butter 🔘icing sugar 🔘 baking powder 🔘 milk 🔘 orange blossom water, rose water or a mixture of both
Making these little sculpted cakes requires the use of special maamoul mold. They could be stuffed with date paste or chopped walnuts or pistachios.😍
First mix the semolina, the flour, icing sugar, softened butter, baking powder. Then add the milk and orange blossom water and/or rose water. Form a ball of dough let stand for 1 hour at room temperature. Next form balls, stuff them with the filling of your choice and shape the balls using a maamoul mold. Place them in the oven. Finally, as you take them out sprinkle them with icing sugar😋👌

As Lent will soon come to an end and Ramadan is right at our door, we bring you a dessert that combines both religious events. Maamoul, as it's called in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine, goes by kombe in southern Turkey, and as kahk in Egypt. Be it Easter or Eid-al-Fitr holidays in the Middle East are incomplete without a shortbread cookie. Lets celebrate together these holy events with some Maamoul🎊🎉
