Located in the village of Amitirigala, Naratale Estate is beautifully set amongst coconut and rubber plantations. For many generations, the land in the hilly Kegalle District between Colombo and Kandy has been in the hands of the Amitirigala family. Sri Vikrama Rajasingha, Sri Lanka's last king, gave the land to the family as a gift. In 2005, Rita and Rangie Amitirigala took over the plantation an
d transformed it into a Sri Lankan-Swiss family enterprise. Ever since, Naratale Estate has developed into a living agricultural and social oasis. Naratale Estate promotes traditional farming methods, runs a rainforest reforestation project, supports social infrastructures such as schools or hospitals, and creates employment for the local community.

Die Plantage Naratale Estate liegt inmitten von Kokos- und Kautschukplantagen im Dorf Amitirigala. Seit vielen Generationen besitzt die Familie Amitirigala dieses Gebiet im hügeligen Kegalle District zwischen Colombo und Kandy. Sri Vikrama Rajasingha, der letzte König von Sri Lanka, hatte der Familie das Land geschenkt.
2005 übernahmen Rita und Rangie Amitirigala die Plantage und machten sie zum srilankisch-schweizerischen Familienbetrieb. Naratale Estate hat sich seither zu einer lebendigen landwirtschaftlichen und sozialen Oase entwickelt. Naratale Estate fördert traditionelle Anbaumethoden, betreibt ein Regenwald-Aufforstungsprojekt, unterstützt soziale Infrastrukturen wie Schulen oder Spitäler und schafft Arbeitsplätze für die lokale Bevölkerung.
