Probably we are the pioneers of introducing MANDI & KABSA spice seasoning to Sri Lankan market. Long ago we were very delighted to have the opportunity to taste the MANDI and KABSA rice in numerous occasions in Qatar & Saudi Arabia; which are most popular dishes across entire gulf region for decades. In early 2017, we experimented cooking both MANDI & KABSA with special Arabian tomato sauce (Dakku
s) at our residence using original ingredients such as dried black lemon and it was the similar taste and aroma which we tasted abroad. Thereafter, we wanted to taste Mandi or Kabsa rice at few local restaurants here in Sri Lanka. We approached to compare the flavour and taste but we regretted that the flavor was nowhere near to Middle Eastern Arabian authentic flavor. At this juncture, we decided to introduce our mixed spice formula of Mandi & Kabsa to our fellow Sri Lankans who were’nt aware of the original dish. We knew it is always good to encourage to cook at home using our spice mixture which will give the authentic taste while assuring hygienic food. We gradually started to process and pack in small quantities at our home and started to sell the spice seasonings within our family circle and among friends. The response was amazing and they used to repeat their orders and spread the message to others about the quality of our products. We displayed 4 of our products, not only Arabian Kabsa and Mandi but also Hyderabad Biryani Mix and Sri Lankan biryani mix to an exhibition which held at Colombo city center in mid of 2020.The event was very successful and gave us more confident. Apart from visiting customers, most of the stall owners bought from us and cooked the very next day and they complimented us that they enjoyed a taste which they never experienced before. Even though we registered as a company in late 2017 for processing and marketing of our products, we wanted to receive the customers’ genuine comments to our products prior to commercial marketing. Those who purchased our range encouraged us to promote the spice range in E-Commerce or social media, instead of selling informally to individual customers. We ensure high quality ingredients hygienically prepared which are used for our spice Mixtures such as dried black lemon, black cardamom etc. We wanted to serve customers using only natural spices without adding any kind of artificial preservatives or animal contents which can bring harm to human health. Thus, we proudly introduce our unique product range to Sri Lankan market. Probably we are the pioneers of introducing MANDI & KABSA mixtures. Presently, we are glad that our spice product range called IZII brand is available in some leading outlets such as SARAVANAS in Pettah, MKB Super Market and Good Farmers at Dehiwala and few other selected supermarkets in Colombo and suburbs. We are very optimistic that the IZII range of masala mixtures will be most popular among food lovers in Sri Lanka and abroad.
