Heritance Kandalama – Where Luxury Meets Nature
Heritance Kandalama is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic luxury hotels, beautifully integrated into the forests and rocky landscape overlooking the Kandalama Reservoir. Designed by renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, the hotel was completed in 1994 and is celebrated for its unique tropical-modernist architecture.
Heritance Hotels +1
Rather than standing apart from nature, Kandalama was designed to become part of it—with lush vegetation, natural rock formations and breathtaking views creating a seamless connection between architecture and the environment. Located in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, it also provides easy access to Sigiriya and the Dambulla Cave Temple.
Heritance Hotels
Heritance Kandalama is more than a hotel; it is a remarkable example of Sri Lankan architecture, sustainable hospitality and the art of living in harmony with nature. 🌿🇱🇰

Sri Lankan King Coconut – Thambili

Sri Lankan King Coconut, locally known as “Thambili” (තැඹිලි), is one of the island’s most iconic natural beverages. Recognised by its beautiful golden-orange shell, it is a distinct coconut variety native to Sri Lanka and is cultivated mainly for its naturally sweet, refreshing water.

Rich in naturally occurring minerals such as potassium, Thambili water is traditionally enjoyed as a refreshing drink, especially on hot tropical days. After drinking the water, the soft, jelly-like coconut flesh inside can also be enjoyed.

From roadside stalls to beautiful beaches, the simple experience of enjoying a freshly opened Thambili is an unforgettable taste of Sri Lankan nature, culture, and hospitality. 🇱🇰🥥
