🌾 FARMER'S REFLECTION β€” SUNDAY

Every farming season is a classroom. 🌱

When I started my farming journey, I thought success was simply about planting and waiting for harvest. But experience has taught me that farming requires planning, patience, learning, discipline, and the courage to improve after every season.

During our first rice production cycle, we experienced challenges that affected our yield, including late planting and the use of recycled seed. Instead of giving up, we chose to learn from those mistakes.

Now, in Production Cycle 2 at AG Agribusiness Empire, we are doing things differently. We started with 60 kg of Cherwa rice seed, followed the production activities carefully, and have already carried out our first fertilizer application using UREA and SA.

The journey is still ongoing, and we don't know the final harvest yet. But one thing I have learned is this:

"A failed season is not a failed farmer. It is an opportunity to learn, improve and come back stronger.”

As the Founder & CEO of AG Agribusiness Empire, my vision goes beyond producing crops. I want to build an agribusiness that creates opportunities, shares knowledge, and inspires young people and women to see agriculture as a viable business.

🌾We learn. We improve. We grow.

🌾 FERTILIZER APPLICATION DAY AT AG AGRIBUSINESS EMPIRE 🌱

Today, we successfully carried out the first phase of fertilizer application on our one-acre rice field at AG Agribusiness Empire.

For this application, we prepared a fertilizer mixture using:

βœ“ 1 bag of UREA
βœ“ 20 kg of Sulphate of Ammonia (SA)

After thoroughly mixing the two fertilizers, we evenly applied them across the field to promote healthy crop development.

The primary objective of this fertilizer application is to improve soil fertility, supply essential nutrients, encourage vigorous vegetative growth, and maximize grain yield. Proper nutrient management is one of the key foundations of successful rice production.

Our second and final top-dressing application is scheduled to take place 14 days after today, beginning the count from 4 August 2026, to ensure the rice continues receiving the nutrients it needs during its critical growth stages.

At AG Agribusiness Empire, we believe that every stage of production matters. Careful planning, timely field operations, and proper crop management are the building blocks of a successful harvest.

Growing today for a better harvest tomorrow.

LEARNING TODAY, LEADING TOMORROW! πŸŒ±πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό

I am honored to be attending the CorpsAfrica Malawi Volunteer Pre-Service Training at Daeyang University in Lilongwe as a CorpsAfrica trainee.

Over the next five weeks, we will receive intensive training in Community-Led Development, participatory approaches, project management, facilitation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and business development. After successfully completing the training, we will be deployed to rural communities across Malawi to work hand in hand with local people in identifying community needs, promoting sustainable development, and supporting youth and women through livelihood and job creation initiatives.

As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AG Agribusiness Empire, I see this as a valuable opportunity to strengthen my knowledge and leadership skills. The experience, practical lessons, and exposure I gain will not only help me serve communities effectively but will also contribute to the growth of AG Agribusiness Empire.

I strongly believe that true leadership begins with learning. By working alongside rural communities, I will also learn from their experiences, indigenous knowledge, resilience, and innovative ideas. These lessons will help me build a stronger agribusiness that creates employment, empowers young people and women, and contributes to food security in Malawi.

The journey continues, and the future is bright.

"Growing Communities. Growing Agriculture. Growing Opportunities."

Meet Amulike Brown Msiska, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AG Agribusiness Empire, from Mwangosi Village, Traditional Authority Kilupula, Karonga District, Malawi.

Driven by a long-term vision, Amulike founded AG Agribusiness Empire with the mission of creating employment opportunities, producing quality agricultural products, and equipping young people and women with practical agribusiness knowledge. The company is currently focused on rice production, with plans to expand into livestock, poultry, horticulture, and food processing.

Today, he is documenting every step of the journey from land preparation to harvest to inspire others that success in agriculture is possible through determination, continuous learning, innovation, and good record keeping.
