🥛 What Are Milk Scones?
Milk scones are a simple type of baked good—soft, fluffy, and lightly sweetened—that use milk as a key liquid ingredient (instead of cream or buttermilk). They’re a classic British-style scone and are often enjoyed with butter, jam, or even clotted cream.

🧁 Basic Milk Scones Recipe
Ingredients (makes about 8 scones):
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
2½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup (60g) cold butter (cut into cubes)
¾ cup (180ml) milk (add a little more if needed)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Rub in butter: Use fingertips to rub butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.
4. Add milk: Pour in the milk and vanilla (if using). Mix gently until a soft dough forms. Don’t overmix.
5. Shape: Turn onto a floured surface, gently knead once or twice, then pat into a 1-inch (2.5cm) thick round.
6. Cut: Use a round cutter to cut out scones. Place on a baking tray.
7. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden.
8. Cool slightly and enjoy warm with butter, jam, or cream.
