Kuih Badak Berendam

Kuih badak berendam, or also known as sopang in Negeri Sembilan, is a traditional cake that is popular in Malaysia, especially in the East Coast, namely in Kelantan and Terengganu.

The soaked rhino cake consists of a dough of rice flour that is thickened round with coconut kernels mixed with tombstones. This part of the flour is made tasteless because it has a sweet core and is eaten with coconut milk to give it a fatty taste. Soaked rhino cake is eaten with coconut milk gravy.

One of the famous local food you can find at here is Laksam.

Laksam is made from flat rice noodles topped with a thick, fish-based coconut milk gravy and served with ulam (local raw herb and fresh vegetable) and sambal.

This is different from the usual Laksa Penang or Laksa Johor. Laksam is eaten with a gravy made from fish meat and coconut milk mixed with several other condiments. The thicker the gravy, the better it tastes.

Roti canai

An Indian-inspired flatbread, roti canai is made with flour, butter and water, though some will toss condensed milk in to sweeten it up.

The whole concoction is flattened, folded, oiled and cooked on a heavily oiled skillet, resulting in a sublimely fluffy piece of bread with a crispy exterior.

You can eat this one as a snack on its own or use it to scoop up a side of curry.

The first food you can find at here must be the Nasi Kerabu.

From the state of Kelantan in northern peninsular Malaysia, nasi kerabu gets its eye-grabbing color from telang flowers, which are crushed and mixed into flour.

The aquamarine dish is topped with bean sprouts and fried coconut, then drenched in spicy budu, a fermented fish sauce.
