I’ve had the privilege to be in your life and watch you grow through almost a decade and I couldn’t be more proud of whom you’ve become. I’ve not done this in awhile… and this one felt extra special. 🤍

Watching my daughter learn about the world around her reminded me how important it is to intentionally share where we come from. So this Raya, we cooked Ayam Perchik and Nasi Kunyit together — messy hands, little stories of home, and flavours that feel like Malaysia. 🌙✨

Huge shout out to Emborg for the opportunity and for the reminder of what it feels like to recreate a taste of home, even when we’re miles away.
If you’d like to recreate this at home, here’s what we used 🤍

Ingredients
1nos - Whole Chicken cut to half (1.2kg)
1tsp - Coriander Powder
1tsp - Turmeric Powder
2tsp - Salt

Spice Blend
2nos - Red Onions
1 k**b - Ginger
5cloves - Garlic
2 stalks - Lemon grass
10 pcs - Candlenuts / Cashew Nuts
1tbsp - Annatto Seeds (steeped in hot water)

Percik Sauce
150 ml - Emborg Cooking Cream
1tbsp - Tamarind Paste
Salt & Sugar to taste
Oil

It’s been just over a month since I returned, and I still miss it. Thirty hours of travel I’d gladly repeat. Penang’s food festival was a beautiful reminder of how inclusive Malaysian food culture can be respectful, diverse, and unifying. Truly food bringing people together. ❤️

First time at a supper club in Accra, hosted by of .

Me an walked in genuinely confused — whose house is this? Turns out, the location changes every time, depending on the theme. This one was her version of an intimate Christmas evening, and it felt exactly like that.

The food? Beautiful. A simple sweet potato amuse-bouche that somehow hit all the right notes, and homemade dumplings that stayed on my mind long after.

But the real magic wasn’t just the dinner — it was the people around the table. Strangers turned into friends, conversations turned into an after-party, and next thing I knew, I was getting home at 5am.

Honestly, one of the best nights we’ve had since being here. Huge shoutout to & for making it happen. You guys are awesome!!
