🍚 Lunch at Nparks Corner Cafe today!

Nparks Corner Cafe is a casual food corner with different food choices under one roof, making it a convenient spot when everyone is in the mood for something different. For our lunch today, we decided to try Jia He 家禾, the Chinese cuisine stall inside the food corner.

We picked a few dishes to enjoy together. 😋

🍅🥚 Tomato Egg Soup – warm and comforting, with a light tanginess from the tomatoes and soft egg throughout the soup. A nice accompaniment to the dishes.

🥬🥩 Twice-Cooked Pork Rice Set – tender pork slices cooked with bok choy, onions, wood ear mushrooms and chillies, giving it a savoury flavour with a little kick. Served with steamed rice.

🌶️ Stir-Fried Pork Intestine Rice Set – pork intestine stir-fried with cauliflower, onions and red chillies in a savoury sauce. The slightly spicy and savoury flavour goes really well with the steamed rice.

🍚 With two rice sets and a bowl of soup, it made for a satisfying and filling lunch.

A familiar name along Jalan Burma, Old Green House is a classic Penang food spot that comes alive in the evening. 🌙🍽️ With its casual, lively atmosphere and variety of local favourites, it’s a nice place to settle down for a satisfying dinner.

We stopped by and had a little bit of everything:

🥣 Yee Sang Kai Chuk – RM9.50
A comforting bowl of rice porridge with a light, savoury flavour — simple and satisfying.

🍗 Poached Chicken – RM8.00
Tender and juicy chicken that makes a great pairing with the other dishes.

🍜 Curry Mee – RM7.50
A classic Penang favourite with a fragrant, creamy and spicy curry broth.

🫖 Teh Si – RM2.20
A simple cup of milk tea to round off the meal.

Altogether, it was a simple and satisfying Penang-style dinner without breaking the bank. 😋 The old-school atmosphere also adds to the charm, making it a nice place to enjoy some familiar local flavours in the evening.

Oriental Kopi 華陽 at Queensbay Mall is a familiar name for those who enjoy Malaysian kopitiam-style food and drinks. Located on the Lower Ground Floor, it offers a modern kopitiam dining experience with a wide selection of traditional Malaysian and Nanyang-inspired dishes, including coffee, breakfast sets, vegetarian options, and signature local favourites in a comfortable mall setting.

The brand was inspired by traditional Nanyang kopitiam culture and Hainanese culinary heritage, bringing familiar flavours into a more modern setting. Oriental Kopi has since grown into a popular homegrown Malaysian kopitiam brand, known for its traditional coffee, handmade specialities and nostalgic local flavours.

I had breakfast here this morning, enjoying their Vegetarian Nasi Lemak and Breakfast Set. The Vegetarian Nasi Lemak is a nice option for those who prefer a meat-free start to the day, and the vegetarian menu is prepared without the five pungent vegetables. The breakfast set, meanwhile, gives you a taste of some classic kopitiam favourites.

The Queensbay Mall outlet has a clean, modern and comfortable atmosphere while still retaining that familiar kopitiam feel. A nice spot for breakfast, a coffee break, or a casual meal while shopping.

Everyday Welcome Cafe, formerly known as Seong Huat Coffee Shop, is one of those neighbourhood kopitiams I often visit for breakfast. Located in Gelugor, it brings together a variety of familiar Penang flavours under one roof, making it a convenient spot for a satisfying local breakfast.

The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and very local, with the nostalgic feel of a traditional neighbourhood kopitiam. It’s a nice place to sit down, enjoy your breakfast, have a cup of coffee, and simply take your time.

A reliable spot for a simple Penang breakfast and a taste of the familiar neighbourhood kopitiam experience.
