Mr Koh’s post made me reflect on how I approach AI.
As a WordPress user and open source contributor, I know that budget is not everything. Many of my students come from B40 families, so I teach them to use open source tools while still following OWASP security practices.
When I speak with bosses, they often ask whether their spending will bring real returns. I understand that concern. I rarely recommend buying a new tool until there is a clear purpose and the timing is right.
That is why I teach vibe coding for real organisational needs, not just as a hobby.
AI adoption needs curiosity, but it also needs responsibility.

When I designed the Microsoft Copilot Unlocked webinar for HRD Corp , my goal was simple: help working adults move beyond AI curiosity and start using AI with confidence.
The survey results suggest we achieved that goal.
Before the session, many participants were already using ChatGPT or Gemini, but several were still unsure about:
How Microsoft Copilot differs from Microsoft 365 Copilot
How to write better prompts
How AI can fit into daily work
After the webinar, participants reported higher confidence across all these areas. They also shared that the prompt-writing framework and live Copilot demonstrations were the most useful parts of the session.
Feedback like this reminds me that successful AI training is not about teaching more tools. It is about helping people apply the right tool to the right problem.
Thank you to all participants for spending your time learning together.

It has been a hectic weekend.
On 4 July 2026 Saturday, I attended my PhD convocation. On Sunday morning, I was at my son’s school carnival, and in the evening, I conducted an AI consultation session.
Thank you to everyone who sent flowers, wishes, messages, and ang pao. I truly appreciate your kindness and generosity.
Receiving a PhD is a meaningful milestone, but it also reminds me that every achievement is impermanent. There is joy, gratitude, and a sense of completion, yet life continues as usual the next day.
A quote that has stayed with me is:
“Be equal minded in both success and failure.”
— Bhagavad Gita 2:48
From a Buddhist perspective, this reflects the spirit of upekkha (equanimity): meeting gain and loss, praise and criticism, success and disappointment with a balanced mind.
There are still classes to teach, projects to supervise, research to pursue, family responsibilities to fulfil, and many opportunities to learn from others.
Perhaps what matters most is not the degree itself, but the people who walked alongside me, supported me when things were difficult, and celebrated this moment with me.
Grateful for the journey so far. One chapter ends. This morning, it is simply back to work.
Education AI
Thank you jb fb group all my supervisors Dr Lee Huah, Dr Steven Tan, Dr Joanne, Dr Monica, Dr Masitah, Dr Chan, , my parents, parent in law, siblings, colleagues, friends and many other . I do wrote all names in my thesis acknowledgment. Many many more help me along the path. 6-7 years of doing PhD. Deferment in year 2021 to give birth. Topic Change in 2022. Depression year 2024-2025. A journey of full of suffering. That why you don’t see me extremely happy or sad, it just Uppekha for me. May all who is going through PhD. This too will pass.

27 June 2026
Second corporate training completed ✅ — and a humbling reflection.
Grateful for the opportunity to train employees from tax audit, manufacturing, and IT agencies in this session.
Honest reflection:
I packed too much content

Went into too many side discussions

Tried to explain too deeply in certain areas

One example:
While explaining deployment, I went deep into hosting architecture

Shared Linux servers vs VPS cloud setups

Cost, scalability, security trade-offs

It was interesting — but too detailed for the learning objective

I could see some participants struggling to keep up with the pace

What encouraged me:
Participants still found the session useful and practical

They could relate concepts back to their own work contexts

Key lesson for myself:
Slow down

Reduce scope

Focus on learning that sticks, not content that impresses

What I’ll improve next session:
✅ Focus on core concepts only

✅ Use simplified, relevant case studies (instead of deep technical dives)

✅ Add more hands-on activities

✅ Create space for questions, practice, and reflection

Sometimes, going deeper doesn’t mean going better —
clarity and application matter more.
Always learning, always iterating 🙏

I received an Appreciation Prize at the Hackathon ASEAM 2026 for my project, AI‑Grader.
I have mixed feelings—but in a good way.
On one hand, I’m thankful:

3000+ participants across ASEAN
many strong submissions
and still, my work was recognised

On the other hand, it reminds me that:

I’m getting closer, but not there yet

And maybe that’s exactly where growth happens.
Seeing so many creative solutions—from wellness AI to project planning agents—was both humbling and motivating.
Congratulations to all winners. Truly inspiring work.
For me, this is just a reminder:
keep building, keep refining, and keep going.

Feeling very lucky to listen to sharing on conscious travelling and her new book on 11 Jun 2026🌿

If I remember correctly, I have been following her blog since around 2009. From blogging to drawing during the MCO period, and now developing her own IP —《啊妹妹日记》— it is inspiring to see how her creative journey continues to grow.

One story that touched me was about the old cake brand in Kulai. Just from the Chinese calligraphy on the shop signboard, she became curious and slowly discovered the family story behind the cake shop.

I really admire her passion for finding these small, local stories hidden in small towns — stories that many people may pass by without noticing.

Her sharing reminds me that travelling is not only about visiting places, but also about seeing people, memories, culture, and the quiet stories behind everyday scenes. ✨

AI is not free labour.

It makes work faster, but faster still needs resources.

Before AI:
More manpower = more cost.

After AI:
More agents, tokens, models, and compute = more cost.

AI did not remove cost.
It changed the type of cost.
