Finally visited the 2nd tallest building in the world!! And it was for a dinner date at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s 75th floor park lounge.

This weekend, they’re doing a special Thai dinner by visiting Chef Faii from Bangkok and it’s some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a while. My top 3 faves / must orders:

1. RM55 l Som Tum: Green Papaya Salad, String Bean, Cherry Tomato, Peanut, Dried Shrimp, Chilli
2. RM90 | Gaeng Kua Poo: Southern Sea Crab Curry, Butterfly Pea Vermicelli Noodles, Split Gill Mushroom, Betel Leaves
3. RM95 | Roti Gaeng Kiew Wan Gam Wua: Braised Beef Cheek, Green Curry, Eggplant, Sweet Basil, Roti Canai

Btw we asked for less spicy a few times and they tried their best but it was still quite too spicy for us 😆, but I guess it preps us for our trip to Phuket in a few weeks.

Also the view from up there is (of course) the best 360 views of the city. Sadly it’s a bit hazy these days, but apparently on clear days you can see the sea 😮

Regardless, the space is beautifully designed - makes for a nice date night or family dinner.

Our new go-to burger in KL 🍔 Bobby’s Burgers

RM24 double cheeseburger
RM30 combo: double cheeseburger + small fries
RM10 regular fries
RM18 filthy fries (regular fries + beef patty + cheese + sauce)

Spend is gonna be ~RM30-55 a person cuz a combo may not be enough food, probably a combo + burger 🙈

Bobby’s Burger at TRX is officially one of our favorite fast food / fast casual burger spots in Kuala Lumpur.

The smash burgers are savory and satisfying, with crispy, caramelized edges and the perfect beef-to-bun ratio. And the fries are Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside. Their filthy fries comes with the patty + cheese + sauce on top - I say you can skip this and just get their combo.

If you’re looking for a good burger in KL, add this one to your list!

“Should we order more??” 😆 ATAS GUːUM

⚲ Atas Restaurant, The RuMa Hotel, KL

Protip for groups - ask for the window-lined corner, tucked away from the main dining room!! It’s a pretty, quite private spot, perfect for a celebration with friends or family.

We started with Yukhwae Jeon, a silky beef tartare on a crispy potato pancake, and the Korean fried cauliflower, coated in a sticky yangyeom sauce with crunchy rice cakes and cashew flakes - sweet, spicy, and crunchy all in one bite.

Then the Surf and Turf platter arrived smoking off the charcoal grill. The beef was so tender it melted, and the butterflied grouper, grilled Jeju-style, had this glaze that caramelized right into the skin, that was my favorite bite of the night.

For dessert, the hotteok: a warm, squishy Korean pancake with burnt honey ice cream. I wanna go back for more..

This residency at Atas Key Tables is only in KL until Nov 30, so try it while you still can!

Life in KL has been more fun since Novi Thio moved here ☺️

Balance is starting the day with a workout and following it up with a treat(ment) 😌. My sister swears by a few of the instructors at Lean, so once a month I’ll make a the drive to Damansara to join her for what is probably one of the more challenging pilates classes in KL. Today we followed it with a massage & afternoon tea nearby at Sofitel KL. Their spa is so lovely and very zen, with a couples room equipped with a shower. Our 60min went by so fast, whereas just a few hours prior, our 50min Pilates class felt like an eternity 😆. Anyways, we had the afternoon tea package at the lobby (wish it could’ve been by the pool in our robes) then went home and made a protein packed wrap of tuna, egg, and harissa. Stay tuned for more sisters days in KL ☁️
