FoodSmart Kids @ School: โBiteWise โ Healthy Choices for Young Mindsโ is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative organized by Pasar Grub, an accredited social enterprise in-collaboration with the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), The program aims to promote a healthy eating environment among school children and nurture awareness of nutritious food choices for the next generation.
The program will feature a range of interactive and educational activities, including a health talk, games, and food tasting sessions. Health Officer from the Ministry of Health Malaysia to deliver a talk and Q&A on healthy eating, particularly focusing on the Suku Suku Separuh concept, which emphasizes balanced nutrition for growing children.
Through this initiative, students from the Bachelor of Science (Food Service Management) program will apply their classroom learning to a real-world project. They will gain hands-on experience in understanding the food supply chain system, designing healthy and appealing menus, and ensuring the sustainability of food sourcing that meets customer preferences.
School stakeholders such as canteen operators incorporated into the program to promote the initiatives.
