iput, Perak. Hoo Hinglee was established in 1968. Yeong Siak Hoo was a former biscuit factory worker who set up the company with his wife with RM500 capital. The duo together with his brother, they started out from a small stall selling traditional chinese biscuits at a market in Sungai Siput. With words of mouth, their biscuits started to gain prominence and before long, people would come from far and wide to buy their product. When they first started out, Mr. Yeong Siak Hoo rented a house to make the biscuits. As the demands grew, he had to rent two houses. In 1980 however, he purchased a land at Sungai Siput which he then built a factory to produce the biscuits at a larger scale. Realising that its Spiral Biscuit was a sought after product, Hoo Hinglee made it into its signature product. As time goes by and request from regular customers, they also added other products such as Pastry, Curry Puff and Peanut Puff.
