Just after the rain, the farm felt extra alive 🍄🌧️

We spotted different kinds of mushrooms and fungi growing quietly around the farm, so we took some photos and videos before they disappeared again.

Some people see fungi as a bad sign, but honestly, seeing them makes us happy.

To us, mushrooms are proof that the soil is alive and functioning well. They are part of nature’s recycling team — slowly decomposing fallen leaves, old wood, and organic matter, turning them back into nutrients for the soil.

A damp farm after the rain, fungi growing everywhere, insects buzzing around… sometimes these little moments remind us that the ecosystem is working as it should. 🌿

Saving our own okra seeds 🌱

One of the quiet joys of growing food is knowing that the garden can continue from season to season with seeds we save ourselves.

Instead of buying new seeds every time, we let some of the healthiest okra pods fully mature and dry on the plant. Inside them are the seeds for the next generation.

Seed saving is more than just saving money.
It is about:
• preserving varieties that grow well in our land
• adapting plants to our local climate
• becoming a little more self-sufficient
• and staying connected to the full cycle of food

From soil, to plant, to seed… and back to soil again.

Slow farming, one seed at a time. 🌾

Something exciting is happening this June 🌿

We’ll be collaborating with Folia for their upcoming farmers market on June 20th, and we’ve been invited to prepare a special Farmer’s Brunch Plate for the day.

For this collaboration, we’ll be bringing ingredients harvested from our homestead — cooked together with Folia’s kitchen into a simple farm-to-table brunch.

This collaboration feels meaningful to us because it brings together what we care deeply about:
growing food, cooking with the seasons, and sharing meals that reconnect people with where food comes from.

If you’ve been curious about what “soil to plate” means to us, this is one way to experience it 🌱

Part 2 of the fence building project.

The next day after the cement cured, we finally started installing the sheet metal.
And wow… it was HOT.

Long time never work under the afternoon sun like this. Sweat dripping non-stop, body exhausted, but at least we managed to finish it.

The old fence was made with broken sheet metal and chicken wire, and stray dogs could easily sneak in for their “party time”. Hopefully this new fence gives the chickens a safer space and us a little more peace of mind.

Tired, but satisfied. One more thing done around the homestead.

老天爷很给脸
饭局的前一天
竟然没下雨
终于等到一个适合割草的傍晚

每次办活动
都会让我们多一个理由
去整理家园

把草割一割、路清一清、角落收一收
(虽然还是有很多杂物清不完的说)
想让来到这里的人
可以更舒服地感受这里的风、泥土味,还有慢慢生活的节奏

有时候也会觉得
这些活动不只是邀请别人来
更像是在提醒我们自己
别忘了继续认真生活

昨天的 Farm Tour + Brunch,
遇到了一班对植物很有兴趣的朋友 Wan Sin🌿

原本以为 farm tour 大概半小时,
结果一路聊一路问;
这是什么?
那个怎么吃?
这花什么味道?
不知不觉就分享了超过一小时。

有人认真观察,
有人不断发问,
我们也越聊越起劲。

其实我们很喜欢这样的交流。
因为 farm-to-table 从来不只是“从农场到餐桌”这么简单,
而是让大家知道:
盘里的食物从哪里来,
经历了什么季节,
又是怎么慢慢种出来的。

Brunch 时,
大家一边吃一边聊天,
食物也被吃得干干净净。

谢谢你们来玩,
让昨天变成一个很舒服、很有温度的早晨。
