Alhaji Murtala Mai Nasara Drives New Economic Opportunities in Gawu
In a significant move aimed at promoting economic growth and increasing revenue generation within Abaji Area Council, the Sarkin Zango of Abaji, Alhaji Murtala Mai Nasara, led a delegation to Gawu to engage with community stakeholders and explore opportunities for expanding livestock and agricultural market activities.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to extend the success of the Abaji Cattle Market and Yam Market to Gawu, creating new opportunities for traders, farmers, livestock owners, and local communities. The initiative has received positive support from both Fulani and Gbagyi communities, who have welcomed the development as a step toward improving livelihoods and stimulating local economic activities.
One of the major achievements championed by Alhaji Murtala Mai Nasara is the facilitation of a branch of Olam Agri Livestock Feed Market from Kaduna to Abaji. The livestock feed outlet, which is expected to be commissioned soon, will provide easier access to quality animal feed, support livestock production, reduce operational costs for traders and farmers, and create employment opportunities for residents.
The delegation included:

The efforts of Alhaji Murtala Mai Nasara and Mallam Muhammad Sani reflect a commitment to practical leadership and community development. While every major initiative requires time for implementation and adjustment, the long-term benefits of this project have the potential to positively impact Abaji Area Council, the FCT, and Nigeria at large.
This is leadership in action—creating opportunities, building partnerships, and laying the foundation for lasting economic growth and prosperity.
However Alh Murtala Mai Nasara He further stated that the partnership between the Abaji Area Council administration, traditional institutions, and market leadership is a clear demonstration of a shared vision for a more prosperous Abaji. Alhaji Murtala Mai Nasara reaffirmed the commitment of the cattle market leadership to continue working closely with the Council to attract investments, create employment opportunities, and improve the welfare of traders, farmers, and residents throughout the Area Council.
