When the cost of doing business goes up, smart entrepreneurs do not just complain ā they adapt.
A few weeks ago, we shared how the rising cost of petrol was putting serious pressure on our production costs. Like many small businesses in Nigeria, we were feeling the impact.
Instead of staying stuck, we asked for help.
The response was incredible. Many people shared practical suggestions, and one recommendation stood out repeatedly: convert our generator from petrol to LPG gas.
We listened.
We researched.
We calculated the costs.
And we made the switch.
Today, our generator runs on LPG, and our production costs have reduced significantly.
This experience reminded us of three important lessons every entrepreneur should remember:
1. Adaptation is survival.
Markets change, costs increase, and challenges arise. Businesses that survive are the ones willing to adjust.
2. Research saves money.
Before accepting high costs as normal, investigate better alternatives. Innovation often begins with asking, āIs there a smarter way?ā
3. Never be afraid to ask for help.
Sometimes the solution you need is in the knowledge and experience of others.
At BachEatsAfricaļæ¼, we are constantly learning that entrepreneurship is not about knowing everything. It is about staying curious, staying flexible, and being willing to improve.
If your business is facing a challenge today, remember: your breakthrough may begin with one question and one bold decision to adapt.
