JUSTICE FOR MY UNCLE:
Today, The family of ADA SAMUEL who hail from Agatu is passing through unimaginable pain.
ADA SAMUEL our brother left home to work in Nasarawa State in a Chinese company named AVATAR in search of a better life, but he never returned.
According to our one of brother who witnessed the incident.
It all began with a disagreement between a woman and a man who allegedly owed her money. The argument escalated, and the man reportedly involved a Nigerian Army soldier. Both parties were called before the soldier.
We were there while the disagreement continued, the witness who happened to be the niece of the victim, said the victim Mr ADAH SAMUEL who was only a neighbor to the woman, tried to calm the situation. He reportedly suggested that, since the woman was married, the matter should be reported to her husband instead of allowing the confrontation to continue.
According to the witness, the soldier responded by slapping Mr ADAH SAMUEL . Moments later, as the argument continued, the soldier allegedly fired his weapon. The first shot did not fatally strike my uncle ADAH SAMUEL, but more shots were fired, and he was seriously wounded.
The witness said that people pleaded to take him to the hospital immediately, but they were prevented from doing so for some time. By the time he was finally taken for medical treatment, he died eventually.
As a witness, I say I recorded part of the incident on my phone, but I was allegedly forced by the soldier to delete the videos and photographs. Thankfully, I had already sent some of the images to friends before they were deleted.
My uncle was not a criminal my uncle was only trying to make peace. He was a hardworking young man trying to earn an honest living. Today, our family has been left with grief, unanswered questions, and a painful loss that can never be replaced.
We are not asking for revenge. We are asking for justice, accountability, and a transparent, independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding my brother's death. No family should lose a loved one in this manner.
We appeal to the Nigerian authorities, human rights organizations, civil society groups, the media, and every person who believes in justice to ensure that this case is thoroughly investigated and that anyone found responsible is held accountable under the law.
My uncle's life mattered. His death must not be ignored.
Justice for my brother. Justice for every innocent life.
