Some people have turned marriage into a job interview.

“Does she have this?”
“Does she do that?”
“Does she have any bad habits?”
“Any red flags?”

Yes, know what you are getting into. Yes, don't ignore serious warning signs.

But remember this:

Everybody has something they are still working on.

The woman you marry today may not be the same woman five years from now. You will also change.

What matters is whether both of you have character, honesty, humility, accountability, and the willingness to grow.

Stop searching for a perfect woman.

Search for someone you can build with.

FLAWS Or RED FLAGS??

There is a difference between a red flag and a flaw.

A red flag can point to serious issues such as manipulation, abuse, dishonesty, uncontrolled addiction, or a refusal to take responsibility.

But she doesn't like your favourite food?
She can be stubborn sometimes?
She needs to improve her communication?
She has a habit that can be corrected?

Those things should be discussed and understood, not automatically treated as reasons to walk away.

Don't demand perfection from someone because you are preparing for marriage.

You are not marrying an angel.

You are choosing a human being to build a life with.

Fair enough.

SOMETIMES, PEOPLE WARN YOU, BUT YOU DON’T LISTEN—UNTIL THE PROBLEM STARTS.

There was one girl like that. She came to me and said, “This guy, he doesn’t like you like that. Don’t marry him. Don’t marry him.”

She didn’t listen.

She went ahead and married him.

Well, the problem started.

She called me and said, “Please, I want you to talk to him.”

So I called the guy.

I said, “Hello, um… something… this lady…”

The guy said, “Hey, all these small-small boys.”

She later called me and asked, “Did you talk to him?”

I said, “In your life!”

“When I was telling you, you didn’t listen. You went and married someone who doesn’t rate me, who doesn’t rate God, and I told you not to go.

Now you’re telling me to go and chop insults?”

I agree. But sometimes, the way people talk about red flags makes it sound like they are looking for a woman without a single bad habit.

Let’s be honest. Is there any woman without one or two things she needs to work on?
You too have your own.

Marriage is not about finding someone who is perfect. It is about finding someone whose flaws you can understand, whose values align with yours, and who is willing to grow.

If you are waiting for an angel to come down from heaven before you marry, you may wait for a very long time.
