I Didn't Know He Was Watching Me 😳
I first saw him on a Tuesday morning.
I remember because it was one of my busiest days.
Orders to package.
Deliveries to track.
Messages to respond to.
My small business had just started growing, and I was finally seeing results.
I was in my kitchen, sealing jars and labeling packages, when I noticed him.
Standing across the street.
Watching.
At first, I ignored it.
People stop and look all the time.
But he didn’t move.
Didn’t check his phone.
Didn’t talk to anyone.
Just stood there.
Watching my house.
Watching me.
I felt uneasy.
But I had work to do.
So I continued.
Mixing.
Packaging.
Smiling through it.
Because this wasn’t just a business to me.
It was my way out.
My independence.
My fresh start.
Later that afternoon, I stepped outside to make a delivery.
And he was still there.
This time, closer.
“Well,” he said calmly.
“You’re busy.”
I froze.
“I’m sorry?” I replied.
He smiled slightly.
“I’ve been observing your routine.”
My heart skipped.
“That’s… not normal,” I said.
He chuckled.
“Depends on the reason.”
I folded my arms.
“And what reason is that?”
He stepped closer.
Lowered his voice.
“To find out if you’re telling the truth.”
My stomach tightened.
“About what?”
He looked directly into my eyes.
“About your business.”
Everything inside me went cold.
“What about it?”
He didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he glanced at the neatly packed jars beside me.
Then back at me.
“You sell trust,” he said.
“Let’s see if you deserve it.”
