I had a student who sponsored herself to attend my academy. And today, I’m so proud to see how well she’s doing in the industry.

But there’s something she does that always touches my heart. Anytime she sees me, she never comes empty-handed. She always wants to give me something as a way of saying:

“Thank you for the impact you made in my life.”

One of the sweetest rewards of being a teacher isn’t money… it’s watching your students thrive in the area of expertise.

I had a student who sponsored herself to attend my academy. She believed in herself enough to invest in learning a skill, and today, I’m so proud to see how well she’s doing in the industry.

But there’s something she does that always touches my heart. Anytime she sees me, she never comes empty-handed. She always wants to give me something as a way of saying:

“Thank you for the impact you made in my life.” 🥹

And honestly, those moments mean more to me than she probably realizes.

Just two weeks ago, she came bearing banana bread for me. 😂❤️

As a teacher, gifts are lovely, but the greatest gift is seeing your students grow, become confident, make money from what they learned, and build something of their own.

That is the kind of impact I want La’cris Kitchen Academy to always make.

I don’t just want to teach you how to bake.

I want to teach you a skill that can change the way you see yourself and what is possible for you.

One day, I received a message that I still haven’t forgotten.

“Ma, I love baking, but I don’t think I can ever make money from it. People around me don’t even believe in me anymore.”

For a moment, I paused.

Here’s the one lesson our students learned today that every aspiring baker should know…

Baking is not about luck. It’s about understanding the “why” behind every step.

Today in class, we made bread and chicken burger.

But beyond mixing flour, yeast, and water, my students learned something far more valuable.

They learned that great baking isn’t about following a recipe, it’s about understanding the science behind it.

Why should the dough rest?
Why is kneading important?
Why does yeast need the right temperature?
Why does one loaf come out soft and fluffy while another turns out dense and heavy?

When you understand the why, you stop guessing.
You bake with confidence.
