When I was a child, during the raining season, I would hunt the edible termites called Esunsun in Yoruba. I think Igbo called it Aku.

To hunt,I would pour water into flat bowl and place under bulb. The reflection of the bulb in the bowl is what will lead the edible termites into the trap(water in the bowl) just like you see in the picture below πŸ‘‡

After the hunt, I would take the preys (πŸ˜…) to our second flat which was uncompleted at that time, made aaro(local stove) and pour the Esunsun in pan, then roast

After roasting,I would proceed to eating them. It used to be night because that's the time you will see the edible termites.

That time,I enjoyed the edible termites alot. Now, I can't even put it on my lips not to talk of munching. I don't know why.

Is there anything you are so much while growing up but you can no longer eat now?
Have you eaten edible termites before?
Do you still eat edible termites?

Happy weekend to you.
