Buns recipe ✅
🧾 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg (optional but gives that classic taste)
1 egg
½–¾ cup water or milk
Oil (for deep frying)
👩🍳 Method
1. Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
2. Add wet ingredients
Add egg and gradually add water/milk.
Mix until you get a thick, sticky batter (not dough like bread).
3. Heat oil
Pour oil into a deep pan and heat on medium (not too hot to avoid burning).
4. Fry the buns
Use your hand or spoon to scoop small portions
Drop gently into the oil
Fry until golden brown, turning occasionally
5. Remove & drain
Take out and place on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
🔥 Important Tips
Oil should be medium heat (too hot = burns outside, raw inside)
Don’t overcrowd the pan
Stir gently while frying for even colour
