Buns recipe ✅

🧾 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg (optional but gives that classic taste)
1 egg
½–¾ cup water or milk
Oil (for deep frying)

👩‍🍳 Method
1. Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
2. Add wet ingredients
Add egg and gradually add water/milk.
Mix until you get a thick, sticky batter (not dough like bread).
3. Heat oil
Pour oil into a deep pan and heat on medium (not too hot to avoid burning).
4. Fry the buns
Use your hand or spoon to scoop small portions
Drop gently into the oil
Fry until golden brown, turning occasionally
5. Remove & drain
Take out and place on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

🔥 Important Tips
Oil should be medium heat (too hot = burns outside, raw inside)
Don’t overcrowd the pan
Stir gently while frying for even colour

A Story Told Through a delicious Egusi Soup.

The story begins quietly, early in the kitchen.
A pot rests on the fire, and palm oil warms slowly—red, rich, and full of promise. As the oil heats, blended pepper and onions are introduced, sizzling softly like the opening lines of a good tale. The aroma rises, letting everyone nearby know that something special has started.
Next comes the heart of the story — ground egusi (melon seeds). Carefully scooped and gently fried, it thickens and changes texture, transforming from simple seeds into a golden, nutty base. This is where patience matters; the soup begins to find its body and soul.
Now the characters enter one by one.
Stock from cooked meat, poured in slowly, brings depth. Pieces of beef, shaki, stockfish, or dry fish settle into the pot, each adding its own voice. Crayfish and seasoning follow, weaving everything together like harmony in a song.
Just when the soup feels complete, the final touch arrives — leafy vegetables, folded in gently. The green brightens the pot, balancing the richness and bringing life to the story. A gentle stir… a short simmer… and the soup is ready.
The pot is taken off the fire.
What remains is not just egusi soup —
it is tradition, comfort, and home, served hot and proudly.
