THERE WILL NEVER BE A SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE
XYZ Nig Ltd is a company specializing in the processing and distribution of palm oil. The company is located at SELFISHNESS State, along SON DUNIYA Avenue. XYZ Nig Ltd employs over ten staff members, including which were Aisha, the Finance Officer; Mr. Austin, the General Overseas Officer responsible for the operational activities of the company; and Grace, the Company’s Cleanliness Officer.
Before assuming the role of General Overseas Officer, Mr. Austin led a relatively ordinary life. He had limited financial resources and struggled to support himself, managing his affairs with modest means. However the management of XYZ provides all necessary resources, including operational funding, to ensure smooth operation of the business but regrettably, rather than upholding accountability and transparency, Mr. Austin misappropriated the company’s operational funds for personal gain. For instance, although the budget allocated millions for palm oil procurement, Mr. Austin purchased only a portion of the required amount, diverting the remaining funds for his own use.
Mr. Austin, due to his own actions, began to feel insecure. He perceived Aisha, the finance officer, as a potential threat because of her boldness and her habit of speaking candidly, without fear or favor. This perception was further heightened by the fact that her role required her to travel frequently to the employer’s state. As the saying goes, “A clear conscience fears no accusation,” yet Mr. Austin’s insecurities clouded his judgment, leading him to view Aisha with suspicious. Members of staff were working together for good six years until the seventh year things turn out bad for Aisha. She was quietly working in her office when she suddenly experienced a severe and uncontrollable change in her physical condition. A staff member was asked to accompanied her to the hospital. When Mr. Austin arrived at the company, he was unable to locate the company vehicle in its usual parking spot. Upon inquiring with one of the staff members, he was informed that Aisha had been rushed to the hospital. Mr. Austin pretended as though nothing had occurred, failing to call or inquire about her well-being throughout the entire year.
Despite Aisha’s repeated visits to the hospital for a series of medical tests, he never once made an effort to inquire about her health.
There is a distinction between medical and non-medical conditions. A medical condition is typically characterized by identifiable symptoms, requires specific precautions, and may necessitate treatment. In contrast, a non-medical condition does not present with symptoms and often occurs suddenly, without prior warning.
second year, Aisha experienced another health episode, this time at home, which rendered her unable to attend work for two weeks. Several colleagues reached out, either by phone or through visits, to offer support. Mr Austin not part of them. Still unbothered. Similarly, Grace the cleanliness officer—who had previously maintained a cordial relationship with Aisha—abruptly changed her behavior following the incident. She neither called nor inquired about Aisha’s well-being, nor did she make any effort to check on her. Instead she was busy spying around tto know the information Aisha had pass out to other colleagues concerning her health.
