Election Is Not a Do-or-Die Affair! 🕊️💔
The reported killing of Elder Onwe Ubochi of Umuogudu Oshia, Ngbo, Ohaukwu LGA, is deeply disturbing and heartbreaking.
According to reports circulating, Elder Onwe Ubochi and other elders had openly prayed for and endorsed the APGA candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Chief Barr. Tochukwu Ogalagu, ahead of the 2027 general election. He was reportedly attacked and killed by unknown gunmen shortly afterward, with disturbing injuries inflicted on his face.
If these reports are true, then this is a tragedy that should concern every one of us, regardless of political party.
How can choosing a political candidate become a death sentence? 😢
Election is NOT war. Politics is NOT worth a human life.
Everyone has the constitutional right to support, vote for, or pray for the candidate of their choice. Today it may be someone you disagree with; tomorrow, it could be someone close to you.
Political positions are temporary. Human life is precious and irreversible.
We must stop turning our communities into battlefields because of politics. Let us disagree politically without becoming enemies.
🕊️ Ohaukwu belongs to all of us. Ebonyi belongs to all of us.
May the soul of Elder Onwe Ubochi rest in peace, and may those responsible for this terrible act be brought to justice.
