Many farmers struggle to make good yield from their maize farm despite the use of fertilizer, hybrid seeds and even manure plus good w**d management, all to no avail, they couldn't make this yield that looks impossible.
The first thing to do is to take care of your soil. Your soil is the number one thing to concentrate on, conduct a detailed soil test to analyse the soil pH, CEC, EC, available nutrient and mineral content, organic matter and above all microbial biomass. With this knowledge revealed, you will know the best fertilizer to apply and the rate at which you should apply the fertilizer, you will also know the best soil amendment process to work with; balancing your soil pH to suit your crop, adjust the CEC and EC to buffer your soil and every necessary steps to do.
After the test is done, they will recommend that you should do things like applying agric lime, apply manure and the type of fertilizer to apply, the right quantity and the right time to apply would also be communicated. If you're able to achieve this, you're 50% on your way to make that big yield.
