A good name is better than riches, that's a fact!.
I understand the above statement very well and that's why despite the challenges I encountered during Egusi storage last year I still made sure to pay all investors their money along with interest without stories.

To God be the glory that they each investor/partner, made extra profit/interest of 15-20k on each bag sold of which I paid them alongside the main capital invested in full.

If not that most of my Egusi partners prefer to stay anonymous,i would have tagged them to this post.

This review is just one out of many in my folder.

Egusi storage in 2026....

Yes egusi seed storage can be profitable in 2026, based on my current findings and the current selling price Nationwide but the profit will depend heavily on your buying price, storage quality and selling window.

My 2026 verdict: 🟢 PROFITABLE, with caution

If you buy good-quality whole egusi around ₦110k–₦115k per 100kg during the harvest glut and successfully hold it for several months, you have a reasonable margin of safety.

For example, at ₦110k:

| Future selling price | Gain per 100kg |
| -------------------: | -------------: |
| ₦140k | ₦30k |
| ₦160k | ₦50k |
| ₦180k | ₦70k |
| ₦200k | ₦90k |
| ₦220k | ₦110k |

That's before storage, transportation and losses.

For your ₦1.5m, if you buy 12 bags at ₦110k, your stock costs ₦1.32m. If you eventually sell at ₦180k, the 12 bags generate ₦2.16m, giving a gross appreciation of ₦840,000 before expenses.

Why I'm cautiously bullish

Nigeria's agricultural policy in 2026 is strongly focused on reducing post-harvest losses, improving storage and encouraging processing/value addition. Kogi is also budgeting for post-harvest-loss reduction and modern storage/value addition. That creates a favourable environment for people who can preserve agricultural commodities properly.

But there's a counter-force: government is simultaneously trying to increase food production and keep food prices affordable. So I wouldn't expect egusi to automatically double in price.

The biggest advantage you have

It's your entry price.

If you can genuinely source good-quality egusi at ₦110k/100kg , you're entering at a price that gives you considerable room for appreciation.

I would be much less enthusiastic about storage if you were buying at ₦170k–₦190k.

🕳️Bottom line:Buy when the price is still very low, buy good-quality seed, proper storage + 4-6 months patience, I would say yes, egusi storage is worth considering in 2026, with a moderately strong risk/reward profile.

I would rate it around 8/10, provided you don't overpay and don't compromise on storage quality.

Let me be honest with you today.

There are times I’ve sacrificed my needs so someone else could be okay.

Times I’ve trek’d under the sun because I used the money meant for fueling my bike to send someone help.

Times I’ve said “I’m fine” with an empty pocket, just to make sure a friend wasn’t embarrassed.

I’ve sacrificed. I’ve been uncomfortable.
Not because I had plenty, but because I knew what it felt like to need, and to have nobody.

So when someone patronize me or sends me even ₦500, ₦1,000, ₦2,000 out of their little.
I don’t see “small money.”
I see sacrifice.
I see “She thought of me when she herself had needs.”
I see love in cash form.

And I appreciate it. Loudly. Gratefully. Publicly sometimes.

Because the truth is:
It’s easy to appreciate big gifts.
But character is shown in how we treat small ones.

That ₦1,000 someone sent you might be the last one in their account.
That foodstuff someone dropped at your door might be what they planned to cook for 2 days.

Don’t despise it. Don’t compare it.
Say thank you. Pray for them. Remember them.

STORE YOUR UNPEELED EGUSI RIGHT"
Keep it dry. Keep it safe. Keep it fresh 💚

Let’s talk egusi and preservation today 👇

If you sell or buy unpeeled egusi, storage is everything. Bad storage = mold, pests, and money loss.

Here are 5 simple ways to store unpeeled egusi so it stays fresh for months:

1. Dry it properly first
Sun-dry the pods until the shell is hard and the seeds inside rattle when you shake.
Wet egusi = mold + aflatoxin. Don’t skip this.

2. Keep it in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Heat and moisture are enemies. Store in your store/room, not on bare floor. Use a pallet or wood to lift it.

3. Use breathable bags
Jute bags, mesh bags, or clean fertilizer bags with holes are best.
Avoid nylons or airtight containers they trap moisture and cause fungus.

4. Protect from pests
Add dry neem leaves, pepper, or wood ash inside the bag to keep weevils away.
Check every 2-3 weeks and sun it again if the weather is humid.

5. Don’t store near chemicals or wet foods
Egusi absorbs smell and moisture. Keep it away from soap, kerosene, and fresh vegetables.

Note:
Well-dried unpeeled egusi can last 6 - 12 months if stored right.

The shell protects the seed. That’s why unpeeled lasts longer than peeled.
But only if you keep moisture out.
