This cake has been sitting in my gallery for over a month. Yes, a WHOLE month!

And no, I hadn't forgotten about it. Life just happened, and somehow, the days kept passing.

But this photo has reminded me that there's more to what I share here than cakes and beautiful finishes. There's also the woman behind the work, with real-life experiences, unexpected moments and stories worth telling.

So, today, we're doing something a little different.

We have been spending so much time creating whipped cream cakes that we had almost forgotten just how pretty buttercream can be!

And then Morayo's 1st birthday cake came along to remind us! 💗

But can we talk about how you almost feel like a “novice” when it's been a while since you last worked with buttercream? I'm sure fellow bakers can relate. 😂

Funny enough, this cake didn't even take as much time as I had expected, considering how long it had been since a buttercream cake graced our work table and made it to our feed!

Sometimes, going back to an old favourite reminds you why you fell in love with it in the first place. Buttercream still has its own charm, and this beauty is proof!
