🐥 Chicken Tips 🐥
5 days old 🐥 Chicks. Are they doing Fine?
Tips to be successful in brooding stage.
The 1st 7 days of the birds determine the success of the farmer.
Things to watch out for......
--Heat source
--feeding
--Water
--Boi-security.
--Medication and Vaccinations
**Heat source -: Get your Heat Source Ready , which my be heating lamp, gas Brooders, charcoal pot, or heating bulbs 💡(60 or 100 or 200 watt). Always keep your brooder house warm for the first week because the chicks cannot regulate their body temperature that is why they need heating source to keep them warm because they didn't have mother which is the hen to cover them under her wing feathers so you are the mother they will watch out for. The heat must not too hot and it must not too cold. If you didn't have a thermometer to monitor the heat then you have to be observant to ✅ check on them every time to time, must especially in the nights🌃 , infact i set my alarm ⏰ to every 2 hours in the nights to ✔️ check on my 🐥 chicks till the day break, when i see that the chicks gather near the heat source or gather to one corner i understand that the heat is low so i topup the charcoal in the charcoal port to put more heat to the room.
When i see the chicks opening their mouths and pantty and go away from the heat source means that the heat is too much so i will open the room window and door cover to allow more ventilation until the heat go down.

BETWEEN LAYERS AND BROILERS WHICH IS MORE PROFITABLE?

A lot of poultry farmers ask me this question and this is my experience about it.

⚡⚡Between broiler and layers,which one is more profitable⚡⚡

Both the two are good and profitable but you have to be Patience for one than the other. Broiler farming is good if you have a steady market for it. It cash flow income between every 8 to 12 weeks but marketing is the main challenge of Broilers.
Layers will lay up to 12 months to 18 months if well manage.
After they start laying they pay for their feeds by themselves you will still have little money remain as your profit depend on the quantity of the birds, this means when you sell their eggs you will use the money to buy feed for them and you will still have profit.
Increase of feed price doesn't affect your production for layers because the increase price of feed will be share on the price of Egg which means when price of feed increase you will increase the price of your eggs too.
After 12 to 18 months of laying period you will still sell your layers as old layers to consumer for meat and you will still get back the money you bought your layers.
Everyone can afford to buy atleast 1 egg as protein source in their diet everyday either cooked egg or fried egg for kids and adults but not everyone can afford to buy broiler meat to cook if not festival seasons.

The price of feed can affect your broiler production when ready to sell because of the country economy.

You can start with 50, 100, 200 and above depend on your capital you have the more you have the more your profit.
