🦠 1. Bacteria
The most common is Streptococcus pneumoniae

More common in people with weak immune systems.
Risk Factors in the Community:

Malnutrition.
Not breastfeeding babies exclusively.
Poor ventilation in homes
Untreated flu or cough
Not taking vaccines
2️⃣ Signs and Symptoms.

Difficulty breathing
Fever
Yellow or green mucus
In children: chest in-drawing, refusal to eat
If breathing becomes fast or difficult, go to hospital immediately.
3️⃣ Prevention of Pneumonia
This is the most important part.
✅ Vaccination
Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.
Influenza vaccine
✅ Other Preventive Measures
Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months.
Wash hands regularly.
Avoid smoke exposure.
Proper nutrition.
Proper ventilation in homes.
Treat cold and flu early.
Wear nose mask during outbreaks.
4️⃣ Treatments:
Bacterial pneumonia → Antibiotics (must be prescribed).
Viral pneumonia → Supportive care
Severe cases → Oxygen therapy at hospital
Do NOT self-medicate.
Complete antibiotics when prescribed.
“Pneumonia is not ordinary cough. If you notice fast breathing, chest pain, and fever — go to the hospital immediately. Protect your family with vaccination, good nutrition, and clean air.”
