One thing I have learned about the provision business is this: your display sells before you do.
A customer should be able to spot what they need the moment they walk into your shop. If your goods are well arranged and easy to see, you’re already halfway to making a sale.
Another strategy that many people overlook is politeness. A warm greeting, patience, and a smile can turn a first-time buyer into a loyal customer. People don’t just buy products—they buy the experience.
Right now, this is what I would do:
* Stock more fast-moving items like drinks, bread, and biscuits.
* Bring those sachet drinks from inside the shop to the front where customers can easily see them.
* Group similar products together so shoppers can find things quickly.
* Keep your shelves neat and fully stocked. Empty spaces make customers think you don’t have what they need.
* Place your highest-profit or fastest-selling items at eye level.
* Clean your shop every day. A clean shop builds trust and encourages people to buy.
* Put your newest arrivals where everyone can see them.
* Create small combo offers, such as bread + drink or biscuits + soft drink, to increase the value of each sale.
* Restock your display throughout the day. A full shelf attracts more buyers than a half-empty one.
Remember this: Customers buy what they see. If they don’t see it, they may never ask for it.
In business, don’t just wait for customers to come in. Make your shop so attractive that it silently convinces people to stop, look, and buy.
