If you are a new vendor, let me advise you.
Leave shop rental alone for now and stay at home.
I sell from home and I made proper provisions for my sales area.
I keep heavy stuff in some of my supplier's stores in the market and they help me sell too.
I dont need to carry everything back home unless I am processing or packaging grills.
See there is nothing prideful in accumulated debts just to show aesthetics to people wey no care and will still blame you if wahala sup.
Stay in your house and do your business, rents now is so crazy. The least I wanted to pay here in lekki was telling me 25.5m to pay 20.5m annually and na warehouse wey no dey straight road oo.
Even if I wanted to buy that warehouse, the landlord was not even going to sell less than 450m and I will need to renovate the place to my taste that will not be less than 10-30m because I will need to bring down some structures there and do it the way that it will suit my taste.
Dear vendors who can't afford a place, stay in your house, do your business online, leave drama and build solid contacts here and trust me, you will have only business taxes to worry about.
Just keep showing up and walking step by step at your pace, don't run, don't compete, don't prove to anyone how much you are making.
I am not asking you to appear p00r, just grow at a pace and believe in yourself. You will notice you are so happy and glowing.
Unless you like plenty noise, by all means rent a space and battle constant rent increases quaterly but if you love steps like me, take it easy on yourself unless you own the place, stay right in your house make nobody pressure you.
I may not be the best person to advice you but make sure you are happy doing anything you do.
