TOPIC: KNOWING CHRIST AS A FAMILY.

TEXT: JOHN 8:34-36.

34. Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.
36. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

TOPIC: KNOWING CHRIST AS A FAMILY.

MESSAGE:
Sin has a way of enslaving, controlling, dominating and dictating man's actions. In order to know Christ as a family, you must be set free from the power of sin. This text tells us that Jesus came to set humanity free from sin. By his death on the cross, he broke the power of sin in the lives of those who believe in him. The believer now lives a life of liberty from the guilt of sin. Those who reject Christ are slaves to sin and are under the control of Satan. As a family, strive to see that every member accepts Jesus as Lord, and encourage them to have a daily devotion. Then they will live holy lives that reflect the glory of God (2 Cor. 3:18). Do your family members have a personal relationship with Christ? If not, make effort to help them find freedom from sin. Do not be nonchalant.

REFLECTION:
Knowing Christ is progressive.

PRAYER:
Lord, help my family to know Christ deeper. Amen .

TOPIC: GRACE AND PEACE IN THE FAMILY.

TEXT: 2 PETER 1:2-9.

2. Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3. _His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
4. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6. and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7. and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
8. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

TOPIC: GRACE AND PEACE IN THE FAMILY.

MESSAGE:
Today's text stresses that the knowledge of God is the source of abundant grace and peace to believers. This knowledge does not come automatically, but through the study of the word, prayer and discipleship. The grace of God enables us to share in the divine nature and to escape all forms of corruption and evil desires. It also makes us to be effective and productive in the kingdom of God.
Have you experience the grace and peace of Christ?
Do you want to grow spiritually and morally upright?
Then, do not remain at being born again; rather take deliberate steps to grow in Christ. Make Bible study and prayer a priority, individually and collectively.

REFLECTION:
Are you enjoying grace and peace in your family?

PRAYER:
Father, help us to experience your grace and peace. Amen.
