*MOPAMURO LG CHAIRMAN RECEIVES NEW NSCDC DIVISIONAL OFFICER, FAROUK USMAN, ON FAMILIARITY VISIT*

The Executive Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, Hon. Ademola Bello, received the newly posted Divisional Officer (DO) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mopa Branch, CSC Farouk Usman, during a familiarity visit to the Local Government Secretariat.

CSC Farouk Usman, who was recently posted to head the Mopa Division of the NSCDC, said the visit was to formally introduce himself to the Local Government leadership and to seek collaboration towards strengthening security and civil protection in Mopamuro.

Receiving the new DO, Hon. Ademola Bello congratulated him on his posting and assured him of the Local Government’s full support and cooperation. The Chairman described the NSCDC as a critical partner in grassroots security, especially in the protection of critical national assets, conflict resolution, and disaster management.

Mopamuro is peaceful, and we intend to keep it that way. Your deployment here is timely as we are consolidating on security across our communities. My office will work closely with you and your men to ensure the safety of lives and property,” the Chairman stated.

Hon. Bello urged the new Divisional Officer to maintain professionalism, synergy with other sister agencies, and a cordial relationship with traditional rulers and residents of Mopamuro.

In his remarks, CSC Farouk Usman thanked the Chairman for the warm reception and pledged the commitment of the NSCDC Mopa Division to its core mandate. He promised to run an open-door policy and to work with all stakeholders to tackle insecurity in the area.

The visit ended with an exchange of contact details for improved coordination between the Local Government and the NSCDC.

Mopamuro Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ademola Bello has applauded *Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo*, for the adequate training and equipping of the newly inaugurated *National Forest Guards*, assuring the State Government of a robust working relationship to secure forests and rural communities.

Speaking at the *Passing Out Parade (POP)* of the Forest Guards, the *Executive Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Bello*, described the initiative as a timely and strategic intervention to tackle insecurity, Illegal Forrest activities, banditry, and kidnapping across the state.

“We commend Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his foresight and commitment to the security of lives and property. The training and logistics provided for these Forest Guards are top-notch. Mopamuro is ready to work hand-in-hand with them to ensure our forests are no longer safe havens for criminals,” the Chairman stated.

Hon. Bello also extended profound gratitude to *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, for approving the National Forest Guard policy and for his unwavering support to sub-nationals in the fight against insecurity.

“Mr President has once again demonstrated that security is at the core of the Renewed Hope Agenda. We in Mopamuro appreciate this bold step and pledge our total support to ensure its success at the grassroots,” he added.

He charged the newly inaugurated Forest Guards to be professional, patriotic, and community-friendly in the discharge of their duties, while urging residents of Mopamuro to volunteer timely information to all security outfits.

The Chairman assured that the Local Government will provide all necessary support to the Forest Guards deployed to Mopamuro to enable them succeed.

*MOPAMURO LG CHAIRMAN CONDOLES OTAFUN AMURO COMMUNITY OVER MONARCH’S DEATH*

The Executive Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, *Hon. Ademola Bello*, has visited *Otafun Amuro* to condole with the people of the community over the passing of their Monarch, *HRH Oba Kayode Atteh, the Oludero of Otafun Amuro*.

The LG Chairman was represented by a delegation led by his *Chief of Staff, Hon. Adeniyi Shina*, alongside the *Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Akogun Idowu*, and the *Special Adviser to the Chairman on Revenue Generation, Hon. Oluwi Richard*.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Adeniyi Shina, described the late monarch as a father, custodian of culture, and a bridge-builder whose reign brought peace and unity to Otafun Amuro and Mopamuro as a whole.

“HRH Oba Kayode Atteh was a royal father whose wisdom and counsel will be sorely missed. His contributions to community development, peace-building, and the preservation of our cultural heritage are indelible. This is a huge loss not just to Otafun Amuro, but to the entire Mopamuro Local Government,” he said.

He conveyed the Chairman’s heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Otafun Amuro Traditional Council, and all sons and daughters of the community. He prayed for God to grant the late monarch eternal rest and for the family and community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Hon. Ademola Bello assured the people of Otafun Amuro that the Local Government will continue to work with the community and the Traditional Council during this period of mourning and in the selection of a worthy successor.

The Executive Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, *Hon. Ademola Bello*, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the *Oludero of Otafun, His Royal Highness Oba Kayode Atteh*, who joined his ancestors in the early hours of *Saturday, 11th July 2026*.

In his condolence message, Hon. Bello described the late monarch as a royal father, custodian of culture, and pillar of peace whose reign brought unity, wisdom, and development to Otafun Amuro and the entire Mopamuro LGA.

“Kabiyesi Oba Kayode Atteh was a father to all. He ruled with humility, fairness, and a deep love for his people. His counsel to leaders and his commitment to the progress of Amuro will be sorely missed,” the Chairman said.

Hon. Ademola Bello condoled with the immediate royal family, the Otafun Traditional Council, the Amuro Traditional Council, and all sons and daughters of Otafun Amuro at home and in the diaspora.

He prayed that God Almighty grants the late monarch eternal rest and gives the entire community the fortitude to bear this great loss.

“As we mourn, we also celebrate a life well spent in service to our culture and our people. May the legacies of Kabiyesi continue to guide Otafun Amuro,” he added.
