Before chicks arrive, preparation is everything.
A proper pre-brooding setup means the pen is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, dried, and well-ventilated. Fresh litter is spread evenly, feeders and drinkers are arranged correctly, and the heat source is tested to ensure the right temperature before the chicks come in.
Good preparation reduces stress, lowers mortality, and sets the foundation for uniform growth.
