Theme: The Manifestation of the Glory of God
Rev. Dr. Sunday Sabo
Text: Matthew 25:31-46, Psalm 41:3, Matthew 26:36-46
Date: November 2, 2025

Key Points:

- The church of God should be the expression of God's glory.
- God has a job for everyone.
- You are expected to manifest the glory of God in what you say, what you do, and in every aspect of your life.
- True Christians are not to behave impurely.
- Make allowance for everyone's weaknesses.
- Never let your sense of failure corrupt your strength or success of today.
- Your understanding of God determines how far you go with Him. Moreover, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
- What may have happened to you or what is happening to you is not important, but how you react to them is what is important.
- Always have a positive mindset and be ready to help.
- Anything you don't get now or have now, don't mount pressure on it, because God knows why He didn't give it to you - maybe it may destroy you. God's time is the best.
- Never think God will allow anything to destroy you.
- You are God's investment; nobody on earth jokes with their investment, how much more your Heavenly Father who created you in His image?
- One thing the world can never take away from you is your heart and reaction.

Conclusion:
Forget about the past and focus on the future. Invest in your heavenly treasure by helping those in need, the poor, visiting the sick, and investing in the lives of others, just as you are the investment of God. Romans 8:31 reminds us, "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

THE AMAZING GRACE CHAPEL
FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC MUBI
BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE
Date: 26th March, 2019
TOPIC: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
TEXT: Prov. 15:1-7, Rom. 12:9-12

INTRODUCTION
To understand why domestic and family violence is a problem in our churches, we must be willing to dialogue about violence, power, gender, and marriage within the wider faith community. In the Bible, all violence is considered an offence against God and against humanity. Domestic violence is narrowly defined as an act or threatened act of violence upon someone with whom the perpetrator is or has previously been in intimate relationship. The term domestic violence often brings to mind the concept of the "battered wife" or perhaps a married couple's verbal argument escalating into physical assault. Domestic violence is also commonly linked to child abuse. Even if the children are not physically injured, watching or hearing a parent being abused can have severe psychological implications. Domestic violence is about power and control. Though the term violence has physical connotations, domestic violence or abuse can occur in non-physical ways.
Questions for Discussion
Q1.What is domestic violence all about?
Q2.What are the causes of domestic violence in homes? Eph. 5:21
Q3.What is our part in preventing domestic violence in our homes? Eph. 5:22-24
Q4.What is God's expectation from our homes? 1 Peter 3:1-9
Q5.What are the effect of domestic violence on the home? 1 Cor 7:4-6
Q6.How can we overcome domestic violence in our homes?
Note: God is on the side of the oppressed and abused (Psalm 56). The scriptures clearly express God's desire for a dramatic transformation of society for those who are burdened, marginalised, or unjustly treated (Luke 4:18-21; Proverbs 14:31; Matthew 9:13; Mark 3:4-5).
Conclusion
"The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife." The two belong to one another and are called to love one another as Christ loved us. Marriage is an image of Christ and the Church. Domestic violence is a far cry from the character of Jesus. Jesus refuses to play by the rules of violence and power (Isaiah 42:3, Matthew 26:52, Mark 10:41-45). This new revolution - modelled by Jesus himself - means that the powerful should give up their privilege to the vulnerable, the abuser should stop using violence against those powerless to resist, and the institution should stop ignoring the trauma of the abuse survivor. The way of Jesus calls us to relationships of non-violence and peace. We are to resist using violence even in retaliation for violence used against us (Luke 6:29). This does not mean a capitulation to the inevitability of violence, but the promise of a day when those who continue to pursue violence will be dealt with (Romans 12:17-19; Revelation 22:12-15).
