Someone posted this and said, “Time don reach to fence Ibadan, see wetin dem dey do.” 😅😅
Okay, let’s discuss this.😎😎
What if I told you it takes atleast knowledge from five fields to arrive at this design?
I know you almost whispered “wetin be that” Oya let’s discuss 😅
1. Thermodynamics
Did you notice that they put sacks between the drums?
Yes, those sacks act as controlled insulation.
If everything was fully enclosed in metal, aeration drops, heat distribution suffers, and the corn overcooks.
2. Chemistry of Water
You see that the corn is stacked vertically above the pot, not submerged inside water.
They understand that steam, not just liquid water, can do the cooking.
That is an excellent knowledge of change of state.
3. Biochemistry of the Corn
How do they know the exact height to stack? 20 layers. 59 layers or 30 layers?
That is what experience has taught them.
You see, corn don’t cook easily because they have cellulosic membranes.
Guess what they did, they kept the green husk, which traps moisture and ensures even cooking.
Excellent science again 👏👏
4. Sustainability
One setup replaces multiple pots, multiple fires, and excess water.
It saves space, fuel, labour, and time.
5. Efficiency
Instead of ten people managing ten fires, one person can run the entire operation.
Now tell me, is this not beautiful science?
But because it doesn’t have LED lights or machine‑learning jargon, people call it “archaic.” 😅
Anyway, let me stop here, Bible study and prayer time. Later 😅🥂
