WHAT A HISTORICAL EVENT IN ZAARLAND

His Royal Majesty, Gung Marcus Kokko Yake, has made history by appointing the Kingmakers and Zaar Chiefdom Council Members, while also inaugurating five additional village heads under Zaar Chiefdom.
The newly inaugurated village heads are:

1 Mallar Village Head — Mr. Simon Tafida
2 Dungah Village Head — Mr. Irmiya Yakubu Daja (JP)

3 Bonga Village Head — Mr. Baba Gambo Bisu

4 Gambar Zugum Village Head — Prince Gaius Liga

5 Tapshin Village Head — Mr. Danjuma Saul ketku'ah.

The historic appointments and inaugurations are aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence, unity, effective traditional administration, and development among the people of Zaarland.

This remarkable milestone marks another significant chapter in the history of Zaar Chiefdom, under the visionary leadership of His Royal Majesty, Gung Marcus Kokko Yake.

HIS ROYAL MAJESTY GUNG MARCUS KOKKO YAKE INAUGURATES COUNCIL MEMBERS AND KINGMAKERS, CORONATES FIVE VILLAGE HEADS

His Royal Majesty, Gung Marcus Kokko Yake, the Gung Za’ar of Za’ar Chiefdom, has inaugurated the Council Members and Kingmakers of Za’ar Chiefdom and also coronated five additional Village Heads under the traditional institution.

The newly coronated Village Heads are:

Dungah Village Head

Gambar Village Head

Bonga Village Head

Tapshin Village Head

Malar Village Head

The historic ceremony attracted dignitaries, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and well-wishers from within and beyond Za’ar Chiefdom.

The occasion marks another significant milestone in the development of the Za’ar traditional institution and further strengthens the role of traditional leadership in promoting unity, peace, stability, cultural values, and community development.

The inauguration of the Council Members and Kingmakers, alongside the coronation of the five Village Heads, demonstrates the commitment of the Za’ar traditional institution to effective leadership, unity, and the preservation of peace and harmony among the people.

GUNG MARCUS KOKKO YAKE INAUGURATES GUNG ZA’AR TRADITIONAL COUNCIL AND KINGMAKERS, AS FIVE VILLAGE HEADS ARE CORONATED

Gungzaar Of Zaar Chiefdom His Royal Majesty, Gung Marcus Kokko Yake, the Gung Za’ar of Za’ar Chiefdom, has inaugurated the Gung Za’ar Traditional Council and Kingmakers, alongside the coronation of five newly appointed Village Heads.

The Gung Za’ar congratulated the newly inaugurated council members and the five Village Heads on their appointments, describing their new responsibilities as a great task and a call to service.

He urged them to prioritize peace, unity and development in their respective communities. He also charged them to remain security-conscious, law-abiding and committed to maintaining peace and stability.

The Gung Za’ar further called on the traditional leaders to work closely with security agencies, government and community members to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their people.

GUNG ZA’AR CALLS FOR STRONGER COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR QUALITY EDUCATION

Gungzaar Of Zaar Chiefdom His Royal Majesty, Gung Marcus Kokko Yake, the Gung Za’ar of Za’ar Chiefdom, has pledged his support for the 2026/2027 Enrollment Drive Campaign, aimed at increasing school enrollment, reducing dropout rates and strengthening community participation in basic education across Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The traditional ruler made the commitment during an engagement with education stakeholders at his palace, held under the theme: “Strengthening Traditional Institutions’ Support for Quality Basic Education and Increased School Enrollment in Tafawa Balewa LGA.”

Gung Za’ar Urges Traditional Leaders to Champion Education

The Gung Za’ar called on District Heads, Village Heads and Community School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) to work closely with school authorities, parents and teachers to improve school management, attendance and student retention.

He particularly urged traditional and community leaders to identify children who have dropped out of school, understand the reasons for their withdrawal and collaborate with parents and education authorities to facilitate their return to school.

His Royal Majesty expressed concern over young people abandoning education and becoming vulnerable to drug abuse and other harmful activities. He called for stronger community sensitization, parental guidance and timely intervention to protect the future of young people.

The Gung Za’ar emphasized that enrollment alone is not enough, stressing the importance of ensuring that children attend school regularly, remain in school, make academic progress and complete their basic education.

He further called for increased attention to girls’ education and vulnerable children, urging communities to ensure equal access to education regardless of gender or socio-economic circumstances.
