The Boo That Turned Abak Federal Constituency, Clement Jimbo off

The news that the incumbent Member representing Abak Federal Constituency, Hon. Clement Jimbo, was reportedly booed by aggrieved youths in his hometown has been both shameful and ridiculous because it has continued to generate intense political conversations across the constituency.

What many political pundits considered unthinkable has now become a stark reflection of the growing dissatisfaction among sections of the electorate who believe that their expectations have not been adequately met.

The development was both shocking and symbolic, as it pointed to the widening disconnect between Clement Jimbo and a constituency that once entrusted him with overwhelming support.

For many political stakeholders, the booing was not just an expression of anger but a loud and unmistakable verdict on perceived underperformance and an alleged display of political arrogance.

Indeed, in democratic politics, public approval remains the ultimate currency of leadership, and no office holder can afford to ignore the sentiments of the people - The Clement Jimbo example.

CLEMENT JIMBO IS VERY INSULTING, SHOULD NOT DREAM OF GOING BACK TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY - UWEM ASIAN

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Elder Uwem Asian, who hail from the same ward with the incumbent House of Representatives Member, Hon Clement Jimbo, has said that the National Assemblyman should not think nor dream of going back to the National Assembly because of his nature of insulting the elders, critical stakeholders and youths of Abak Federal Constituency.

He revealed this to newsmen in an interactive session in his country home at Ediene Abak, ward 2, which happens to be Clement Jimbo's ward, saying that Clement Jimbo is the worst thing that has ever happened to Abak in terms of representation. He made it clear that Hon. Jimbo did not consult many stakeholders in Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika before the just concluded APC primaries on the account of his grandiose attitude.

"A man who didn't consult the elders, youths and a critical mass of people who were supposed to have been consulted before the primary election should not call himself the people's representative. Though I would not want to hold brief for the speaker, I believe strongly that the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong and other key stakeholders deserved to have been consulted by Clement Jimbo"

"People should ask him if he had consulted the speaker before primaries even till date. He publicly boasted in his house on social media that he can never consult anybody that is older than him. Is that kind of person a true representative of the people? I ask again. It is customary in politics that if you are looking for an election, you should consult people, but ask Clement Jimbo who and who he consulted before the primaries and you would be shocked to know he didn't consult anybody, as such, does not deserve another term"

"A man who goes around talking anyhow to the youths should not be allowed another shot at the National Assembly. It is a norm in politics for supporters who are in desperate need of help and assistance to reach out to their representative for help. Whenever that happens, Clement Jimbo will respond with "thunder fire you". Youths would call him to help out with school fees and he will respond by telling them to go and do menial jobs to be able to go to school, that himself used to carry blocks to be able to go to school"

"Another youth will call for assistance to bury his relative, he will respond by asking if he was the one who killed the person. And will sometimes tell them that he doesn't sell caskets. Some others will call for help to go to the hospital for medical attention, and he will tell them that he's not a medical Doctor, and all of that. I don't know what our leaders see in him that they wish he should continue. Thank God the youths have risen in unison with a cry that Clement Jimbo should go back home and not represent them again, which is the reason why he was ridiculously booed at the Council Hall. The youths were simply making a loud statement, that enough is enough".

"We wouldn't want to talk about projects that he promised and has not fulfilled those promises. He came to this community and promised us a transformer, till date, we have not seen "trans" not to talk of "former". Go and check, there's no road to his house and people will think that we have a representative at the National Assembly. We do not need that kind of representation"

Another stakeholder who refused his name on print revealed that, "Clement Jimbo is an ingrate because people contributed money for him online, on social media and off line for him to be able to buy form and run campaigns in his first term, but today, the same Clement Jimbo is everywhere on social media exchanging words and pouring vituperations on the same people who whole heatedly supported him to win election. Now he no longer picks calls because he has "arrived". And, he wants to go for another term, No! Clement Jimbo is a representative of all things bad. We cannot afford him going back to the National Assembly because he will sit on all of us, abuse, oppress and suppress everyone in the constituency".

According to the man who spoke anonymously, "Abak Federal Constituency deserves a representative who will prioritize development, accessibility and human relations, rather than high handedness, pomposity, grandiosity and disdain for the people".

He further noted that, "Clement Jimbo does not in any way possess the attributes of Ediene people who are known for humility, sincerity and generosity", adding that pride will always come before a fall.

Iboro Johnny Felicitates Minister of Interior on Birthday

The lead contender for Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency seat in the coming general elections, Engr Iboro Johnny, has extended warm felicitations to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji -Ojo as he marks his 2026 birthday.

Engr Johnny, in his felicitation message described the Honourable Minister as a man of many parts and multiple achievements. Saying that, the office held by the minister is central to Nigeria's internal security and administrative governance, overseeing agencies like the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, towards maintaining law and order.

Engr Johnny commends the outstanding performances of Hon Tunji -Ojo, "As you know, in simple terms, the Minister of Interior is responsible for keeping the country internally secure and ensuring key public safety institutions function effectively. Since assumption of office, he has been credited with several reforms and results to include, clearing over 200,000 passport backlogs inherited from previous administrations"

"He has strengthened migration management and border security frameworks, improved response time of fire services to under 15 minutes nationwide and enhanced operational capacity, established digital systems and a technology innovation complex to modernize operations, initiated plans to use AI to track visa over stayers and irregular migrants"

It is no longer news that the lead contender for Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency seat, Engr Iboro Johnny, has purchased the Expression of Interest Form for the 2027 National Assembly race.

Rather, it has become a thing of overwhelming excitement that has elicited joy all around Abak and it's environs, because immediately after the purchase of the form, Engr Johnny took to his Social Media handle to state unequivocally that he is fit and ready to run the race to a logical conclusion.

Maintaining in the same that, "I am the next Federal House of Representatives Member and I shall attract more democratic dividends to my constituency, given that there are many hanging fruits in Abuja that people are not able to pluck home for their people. "I Personally Gave Clement Jimbo My Car Battery When He Came For Consultation In His First Term, Till Today, He Has Not Come To My House Again" - Chief Emmanuel Umoren

The Village Head of Abiakpo in Otoro Abak, Chief Emmanuel Umoren has said that he personally gave the current Member of the House of Representatives, Hon Clement Jimbo, his car battery after his car battery failed when he came for consultation in his palace.

The Secretary TRC said that "When Clement Jimbo came to consult me in my Palace at Otoro Abak, I gave him my car battery to be able to drive back home because his car battery failed. As we speak, immediately he won the election, he deleted my number and till today Clement Jimbo has not returned to tell me thank you. I don't think he can still remember the road to my house. His character is truly questionable".

The Village Head of Abiakpo made the revelation when Engr Iboro Johnny consulted Otoro Clan Council of Chiefs on his Federal House of Representatives race at the Development Center, Otoro Abak.

The Village Head regretted ever supporting Hon Clement Jimbo over what he described as "arrogance, pomposity and grandiosity, in his character. He has serious character flaw and defection".

Describing Hon Clement Jimbo further, the Village Head expressed extreme dissatisfaction in his representation, saying that Clement Jimbo has not been able to represent the people of Abak Federal Constituency effectively.
