Standing with Nepal
Nepal is going through an incredibly difficult time following the devastating floods that have affected communities across the country.
We are grateful to share that our aQysta Nepal team and the farmers we work with are safe and were not directly affected.
We are also deeply thankful to our partners and friends who reached out, checked on our team and farmers, and kept Nepal in their thoughts. Your messages and concern have meant a lot to us.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected, with the families waiting for news of their loved ones, and with the communities facing the difficult road ahead.
We sincerely hope that those still out of contact are found safe and reunited with their families.
We stand with the people of Nepal.

Recent CBI research points to several shifts in the European market: demand for new flavours is growing, food safety and traceability are under greater scrutiny, and buyers are looking at multiple sourcing origins to reduce supply chain risks.
The same spice can come from different regions, with origin influencing its characteristics, story and positioning. At the same time, having access to multiple origins can give buyers more flexibility when managing supply.

Scaling smallholder impact through global market integration. 🌾

Meet Bina Rawat, a farmer from Salyan, Nepal.

Previously, Bina’s Timur pepper was sold only in domestic markets. Through organic certification and production aligned with international standards, her produce is now reaching European markets with aQysta. 🌍✈️

Real impact starts by connecting local farmers with global opportunities and creating pathways for Nepalese produce to reach the world.

Two thousand years from now, someone might sit under one of these trees. 🌳

Over the 1st and 2nd of August, 3,000 native saplings went into the ground in Meghalaya — 1,500 Michelia champaca and 1,500 Pinus khasiana, chosen because they belong here.

The work was powered by people: 8 intern students from Kiang Nangbah Govt. College, Jowai, members of JHDS, and local laborers who stepped in to help finish what the community started. The pits were already waiting — dug by the landowner before the team even arrived.

This is what restoration looks like on the ground: not a single big gesture, but a lot of small, deliberate ones.

🌱 What does regenerative agriculture look like in practice?

For us, it's not just about introducing new techniques—it's about working alongside farmers, sharing knowledge, and learning together in the field.

In July, we spent time with 53 farmers from West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya, India, where we conducted practical training sessions on organic Lakadong turmeric cultivation.

👩‍🌾 Instead of spending the day in a classroom, we took the learning into the field. Farmers practiced everything from rhizome selection and seed treatment to compost preparation, mulching, and identifying common pests and diseases. We also demonstrated how locally available materials can be used to prepare bio-inputs like Fish Amino Acid (FAA) and Dashparni Ark, making regenerative practices more accessible and practical.

🪴 One thing that stood out throughout the sessions was the willingness of farmers to ask questions, share experiences, and discuss what works in their own fields. Those conversations are just as valuable as the demonstrations themselves.

🌿 Building resilient farming systems doesn't happen in a single training session. It happens through continuous learning, practical application, and collaboration.
