Aanwezig bij de Verkerk × Kemme Proeverij: Clos de l’Obac

Wij zijn trots om aan te kondigen dat Clos de l’Obac de laatste toevoeging is aan het portfolio van Kemme Wines. Een iconisch domein uit Priorat en een van de grondleggers van de moderne heropleving van de regio.

Sinds 1989 behoort Clos de l’Obac tot de visionaire producenten die Priorat opnieuw op de wereldkaart zetten. Gelegen in Gratallops, werken zij met oude stokken op de kenmerkende llicorella-leisteenbodems, wat resulteert in wijnen met enorme concentratie, diepte en een uitgesproken terroiridentiteit.

In de kelder wordt compromisloos gewerkt met lange maceraties en langdurige rijping op hoogwaardig Frans eiken. De stijl is krachtig maar verfijnd, met indrukwekkend bewaarpotentieel en een unieke balans tussen intensiteit en elegantie.

Extra bijzonder: Guillem Pastrana zal persoonlijk naar Nederland komen om de wijnen van Clos de l’Obac te presenteren tijdens de Verkerk × Kemme Proeverij.

Een unieke kans om een van de grote namen van Priorat van dichtbij te ervaren.

Aanwezig bij de Verkerk × Kemme Proeverij: Jackson Family Wines

Wij zijn trots om Jackson Family Wines te verwelkomen, een van de meest gerespecteerde familiebedrijven in de internationale wijnwereld. Vanuit een sterke visie op terroir-gedreven wijnbouw heeft de familie Jackson een indrukwekkend portfolio opgebouwd met iconische estates in enkele van de meest bijzondere wijnregio’s ter wereld.

Met een duidelijke focus op hooggelegen wijngaarden, koele kustinvloeden en single-vineyard expressies staan de wijnen bekend om hun precisie, structuur en herkomstgetrouw karakter. Kracht en elegantie gaan hier hand in hand, met een compromisloze benadering in zowel wijngaard als kelder.

Voor deze editie mogen wij Tim Gray verwelkomen in Nederland, waar hij persoonlijk een selectie wijnen zal presenteren van onder andere:

We are proud to represent Clos de l’Obac, one of the founding estates of modern Priorat. In 1989, Clos de l’Obac was part of a small group of visionaries behind the rebirth of the region, releasing one of the first vintages of the “new Priorat” and helping to redefine Priorat’s identity on the global wine stage.

Located in Gratallops, the estate works with old vines rooted in the region’s iconic llicorella slate soils, naturally limiting yields and producing wines of exceptional concentration and character. The focus lies on traditional varieties such as Garnacha and Cariñena, complemented by small amounts of international grapes depending on the cuvée.

In the cellar, the philosophy is uncompromising: long macerations, careful extraction and extended ageing in high-quality French oak. The resulting wines are powerful yet refined, combining depth, freshness and a profound sense of place, with remarkable ageing potential.

Just last week, we travelled to Priorat to visit Clos de l’Obac in person, a truly special experience that deepened our respect for both the estate and its wines. Releases are deliberately delayed until the wines are considered ready to drink, meaning the current release for both Clos de l’Obac and Miserere is the 2016 vintage. In addition, older vintages such as 2008 and 2005 will be arriving soon, offering a rare opportunity to experience the wines at full maturity.

Aanwezig bij de Kemme × Verkerk Proeverij: Weingut Robert Weil

Wij zijn ongelooflijk trots dat wij dit jaar de samenwerking zijn gestart met Weingut Robert Weil. Vanuit mijn achtergrond als sommelier heb ik met geen enkele Duitse Riesling liever gewerkt dan met Robert Weil. Om dit iconische huis nu te mogen toevoegen aan het portfolio van Kemme Wines voelt dan ook als een grote eer.

Weingut Robert Weil werd opgericht in 1875 en is gevestigd in het plaatsje Kiedrich, in het hart van de Rheingau. Hier beschikt het domein over enkele van de meest prestigieuze wijngaarden van Duitsland, gekenmerkt door steile hellingen en leisteenbodems, ideaal voor Riesling van grote precisie, spanning en elegantie.

Van droog tot zoet worden de wijnen klassiek en minutieus gevinifieerd, met een feilloze balans tussen rijpheid, frisheid en terroirexpressie. Rieslings die al decennialang tot de absolute wereldtop behoren en bekendstaan om hun uitzonderlijke bewaarpotentieel.

Extra bijzonder: Robert Weil zal persoonlijk aanwezig zijn bij de Kemme × Verkerk Proeverij. Een unieke kans om deze wijnen te proeven en het verhaal rechtstreeks van de maker te horen.

Aanwezig bij de Kemme + Verkerk Proeverij (maandag 16 februari): Félix Callejo

Félix Callejo is gevestigd in Sotillo de la Ribera, in het noorden van de Ribera del Duero, waar hoogte en extreme temperatuurverschillen zorgen voor wijnen met kracht en spanning. Het domein behoort tot de referenties van de appellatie en werkt met oude stokken op kalkrijke bodems.

De focus ligt volledig op Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), afkomstig van zorgvuldig geselecteerde percelen rondom Sotillo. Dit resulteert in wijnen met concentratie, elegantie en een uitgesproken terroirexpressie.

In de kelder wordt bijzonder en precies gewerkt, met perceelsgewijze vinificatie en rijping op Frans eiken. De stijl is krachtig maar verfijnd, met gepolijste tannines, balans en structuur. Niet voor niets werd Félix Callejo in 2021 uitgeroepen tot Winemaker of the Year door Tim Atkin MW.

We are thrilled to welcome Domaine Gautheron to our family of winemakers, a true benchmark of classic Chablis excellence.

For over seven generations since 1809, the Gautheron family has been crafting, on the famed Kimmeridgean soils of Chablis, with respect for tradition and terroir at the heart of everything they do. Their vineyards span roughly 30 hectares, stretching from Petit Chablis and Chablis up through Premier and Grand Cru sites. Producing 5 out of the 7 Grand Cru’s.

Under the modern stewardship of Cyril Gautheron, the estate consistently produces wines that express purity, tension and minerality.

We’re especially proud to bring in a producer that Tim Atkin MW recognises as one of the top producers in the Chablis region, a rare endorsement highlighting both quality and authenticity.

The Perfect Pairing at Ciel Bleu

When we asked Sommelier Niccoló Benigni and Restaurant Manager to select their Perfect Pairing, the choice was unanimous: Capensis Fijnbosch Chardonnay 2019.

, under the direction of winemaker Graham Weerts, is dedicated to crafting one of the finest expressions of Chardonnay from the Western Cape of South Africa. The Fijnbosch vineyard, their highest and most distinctive site, surrounds the Capensis Kliphuis Estate and forms the backbone of this exceptional wine. The name Capensis derives from Latin, meaning “From the Cape”. A clear statement of origin and ambition.

The Fijnbosch Chardonnay 2019 is layered and complex, yet marked by remarkable precision, finesse and elegance. Subtle oak integration, refined texture and vibrant freshness make it an outstanding gastronomic wine. Therefore, a great partner for the dish.

A sublime creation by Executive Chef and his team:

North Sea sole with Dutch shrimps, and preparations of green asparagus and red vanilla.

A pairing where purity, balance and refinement meet at the highest level.

When I worked as a sommelier, there was nothing I loved pouring more, and now we can share these wines with the sommeliers in The Netherlands!
